It feels SO much faster than that. That's an interesting point to add. |

I second the motion.
While you're at it, Kanon-Kanon, Feldschlacht, Keep in Mind, Szerencsetlen, and For FFR can join the party.

I agree with that as well. But if this song is significantly easier than a really borderline file that was shafted VC then...
Also, I can't believe JX had Kono Spoon at 10, that song is (to me) a high FMO. Like HIGH FMO. For me it's sooooo much harder than both Toxiferious and Amen Iraq. But that's because Spoon represents everything I'm terrible at: multiple pattern repeats (tricky ones make it worse, the more a pattern occurs the more I tend to screw it up the next time around), one handed trills (from the inverse roll walls) and extreme one handed pressure from the non jumptrillable roll walls. I honestly can AAA everything in the file on it's own, and every time I play Spoon I hit goods in completely different places, but it's always in ONE of the 7 walls, and I get a good amount (like 4). Objectively, mid FMO makes sense, it would be low or VC if it were jump trillable or didn't have the color coding (which is very cool, but does make a difference)

Really the borders are just skewed in general. There's always something on the 10 side some think should be an 11 and stuff on the 11 side that people think should be a 10 *cough*novo mundo*cough* Plus it doesn't help that we all excel at different things. I happen to be good with rolls so for me Finder is like a cake walk in comparison to 0, but then again I don't compare the two because the chart structures are completely different. They stress different skills. I don't know how we can ever get an accurate rating system when difficulty is in fact subjective to an extent.

Rate jack files higher than roll files if more people suck at jacks than at rolls.
In other words... stick to the current difficulty until lots of people (like more than 50) complain Last edited by leonid; 11-30-2011 at 12:52 AM.. Reason: changed wording a bit |

I think the reasoning behind JX's rating of Kono Spoon was that the structure of all of the faster patterns were very easy - it's literally straight rolling/split-rolling, and nothing else. The ratings on that file can fluctuate ALL over the place depending on the person.

The last two threads people seemed to be pretty upset that the rating wasn't changed after only maybe 10 had said they wanted a change. I'd hate to imagine how it would be waiting for it to get to 50 -_-

Have them send petition or something -_-
Personally I don't understand why some people care SO ****ING MUCH about difficulties. Difficulty rating is just a number... if people find a file difficult, they know it's difficult, regardless of what the rating says |

This has always been a good question, because to me difficulty means everything, and I have no idea why. I think it came from DDR, when playing a 10 just meant so much, and have things like Arabiata so gruesomely misplaced really made people mad, and since I was a kid, higher difficulty made the song cooler, but running into a 7 than was harder than an 8 or 9 felt really stupid and discouraging, especially when progressing through songs, and finding easy 8's just felt dumb as well. The game with the stupidest rating mistakes is rock band, and though some people really don't some definitely do, like me, because it also implies the trickiness of the file from a look. People can say 'how hard is x song on guitar' and a response that 'it's the highest difficulty, it's really tricky IMO' makes it sound more impressive and intimidating than 'it's a 5 but it should be way higher, I guess it's just easier for some people'. I never knew why I cared and I still don't, but all I know is I do care and organization has always been a HUGE pet peeve of mine, I have very bad OCD, but I doubt it has much to do with the difficulty ordering, since OCD isn't like Monk and stuff, but still, if I care enough about difficulties to obsess, well maybe the compulsion is to complain like a bitch XD

Finder - Enjoyed playing it. Only thing stopping me from AAAing it is the first roll lol. I will take the time to figure out how to hit it later and when I do I will get the AAA.
0 (piano version) - I say keep as an 11 because even though the jumpstream isnt as dense as AA it still provides other stuff such as mini jacks and framers etc. I enjoyed the jumpstream very much in this chart :3 Amen Iraq - lol I suck at this chart so much. There are so many akward patterns especially near the middle-endish part. I find this to definetly be in the high FMO/low FGO area.

AAAing 11s means a lot to some people and AAAing a 10 could mean next to nothing to the same person.
Reviews for all the charts now that I've played them all: D1 - Pretty fun, going to be a challenge for D1 D2 - I'm amazed at how awesome this song and chart were, absolutely terrific. D3 - Quite a fun file, the 24th stream at the end was neat ![]() D4 - rololololololololololawkward D5 - Songs like this shouldn't be stepped period. D6 - Very fun file minus the jumpglut and crazy hand shit at the end.

Difficulties are just a number, yet I had to keep thinking to myself that Fall Silently was a 9 to not psyche myself out xD
It's all mind power. Just imagine in your head that it's the difficulty you want it, and voila.

I think what stavie's trying to say is that some people care a lot about difficulties because the difficulties hold the key to some people's sense of accomplishment. Therefore, when you increase the difficulty of a file, doing well on the song is that much more of a pat on the back for said player*. Not to mention, some might say that the difficulty of a song psychologically will affect their performance on it.

When did I ever say I find it easy? I said the patterns in comparison to Versatile and Finder just don't cover that gap. I don't find it that easy, my first AAA didn't record and it took me a good 8 more tries or so to AAA, while a normal high VC would take me 2-3? And that's based on how easy I find files

I really got screwed over being in D4. Loosing skill paired with... well... D4's songs. I guess I deserved to be out the first round. D3 would have been so much more reasonable. Then again its doubtful I would have made it this far in D3. Can't even AAA their songs. Fun fun fun fun.
