I think both of the songs this week are easier than Crimson Crescent.
I find myself constantly missing that note near the end in La Camp though
But they're both awesome files.

I didn't mean to cut off the date in the top one =S I hope that's ok.

Easy shit, easy shit, more easy shit, 24TH WALL, easy shit.
The random gibbering in Korean is kind of distracting too, was never really a fan of the Final Audition-style BanYa songs, but the file itself is pretty fun.


The minijacks aren't a problem for me, the thingies with the 32nds are basically where I dumped every single good.



Overall I feel this round is no harder than the previous. I can see myself possibly AAAing both of these files depending on how much I whore them...

Ummm, I will say this, with no regret that is That a [1][3] trill is 10x easier than a [1][2] trill.... vice versa with [3][4]. Dependent on which hand your better at using. I easily can do a [3][4] one handed trill better than anything. However, I find it much MUCH harder than a split trill by far. I know PLENTY of people who also feel the same way. Saying it doesn't make a file harder is opinionated of course, and you may be right to your own extent, but in actuality I can possibly say your wrong :/

Up down trills are the only trills that really give me a problem other than the Left Down one handed. LA CAMP on FFR ****ing blows donkey balls because of that stupid up down trill. But if it was left and right trill trust me, people would easily get better scores. Just look at scores on songs with certain trills and you'll see the outcome.

And personally, I kinda agree with Izzy here. I feel that some "gimmicks" were displayed only for this tournament when things could have been stepped much easier and much more genuinely. (So far that is)

To be honest, playing one handed-trill is as genuine as you can get for La Campanella. You'd look like a pansy trying to play a trill with two hands on the piano.

Before you make incredibly snide comments about those who actually took the time out to submit content to the tournament, perhaps you should actually examine the file first. I've got a very strong understanding of music theory and I'm perfectly capable of applying it to charting.

Consider the fact that I went for pitch relevancy in the piano area. There's absolutely nothing else going on there, so if you can't keep up with that, that's your own problem and you should more than likely practice that.

One-handed trilling is a technique just like jacks, trills, jumpstreaming, etc., and implying that it's not legitimate is just poor judgment and more than likely you venting out of frustration.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the file and I can give out layering scheme and even pitches within certain melodies, if you'd like.

EDIT: also nothing against Carlos for stepping his La Camp as an U/D trill because at that speed, one-handed trills are a bit unreasonable (compared to the 175 BPM here).

If you guys don't like the files, don't play, it's that simple. We're not here to give you the same exact tourney experience you are used to seeing, we're here to bring fun/unique files to the table and give you a run for your money. Plus, I didn't see the ones that are complaining most stepping up to submit anything for this tourney. People worked hard to give you new files to play all the way through.

I really liked this song then there were note combos that confused me, or it might be that I'm playing with no glasses on, either way, its a good chart. I really liked it.

I meant don't play as in leave the tourney. Nobody is forcing them to play. If the files are that terrible, then I guess they shouldn't play. Maybe go make their own tourney if we do such a poor job at it.

La Camp is fun.

The only things I dislike about Carlos' chart is that the trill isnb't one handed (easier to bs <3) and the odd jack section. (Not to say I don't understand it though. I love that chart <3)

Okay, I have been wanting to say something about this for a long time coming now. Not just in this tourney but in ANY tournament I've ever seen or any release of a song I've ever seen.

People are going to complain. It gets us complainers a bit of justification for whatever reason we have. If Izzy, myself, or anyone have a problem about a file we will express it. Yes doing so in a tournament thread might be just a bit off of the kindness area, but I personally didn't think Izzy's post was rude at all, a bit snippy but not rude, and honestly, a good question.

Look at Niala's new file released this week and look at everyone bitching and complaining that the chart doesn't go right with the song. Oh well, it was his stepping and hey, it made it past the judges. Guess what, there are only 2 judges that I know of accepting these files into this tournament. Kayla and AJ to my knowledge. I can reasonably think that if people are here to criticize in a tournament where new songs are listed they have the right too...

OR, you know what you should do? Create 2 threads. The tournament thread, and the step chart thread where people can criticize the charts and give opinions and what not and it can be situated much MUCH easier there. Personally, I think that would be a better idea. Just like the Official last year, they have a separate thread for placement complaints and what not.

Personally, it's going to happen no matter where you go, people have the right to criticize at a minimum. Not excessive, which I didn't see Izzy do here. A simple response to his question I feel would have been right and AJ did that, so that's over with.

Kayla (and AJ) is the host of this tournament. All she wants is a good atmosphere for the tourney and I'm sure you can respect that.

There's nothing wrong with stating why you dislike a file, as said before when people were ragging on i love you for a perfectly acceptable file that had a difficulty spike. hi19hi19 explained it best; if you dislike it, say WHY you dislike it, not say that it's poorly done and then say that it's being done intentionally. What you're saying isn't constructive, and it's most certainly not criticism either.

Exactly this. I have a personal opinion on all of the files and I have no problem explaining them just so as long I know it's clear that the person knows it's my opinion, and that it's not intended to be disrespectful.
