Rushy is right on with that post, if you don't get his/my/Shaydow's point now, then you really don't need to be here to discuss this.
Personally I think a huge problem with the system is the fact that we started the terms High and Low, because quite frankly they should be two separate difficulties to clear up expectation issues of players. If some average player clicks an 11 expecting something like Novo Mundo or (not FMO anymore, I know) None Would Escape, I'm going to guess that they are not wanting some of the newer FMO's to play, they want what to them should be an 11. Yeah there'll be variety within a difficulty, but there is a HUGE difference between our "Low" FMO's and our "High" FMO's. They almost might as well be two different difficulties. Same applies to things other than FMO's though, I was just using that because it's the easiest example to come up with. Shaydow, I'm on your side, but calm down bro lol. It's an internet community that loves to flame/troll, don't get sucked in.

It's been stated several times before that the current range in difficulty chosen to define the boundaries of a certain level (especially for VCs and up) is absolutely horrendous
But now we're just back to the argument of whether or not 'For Experts Only' should be created |

In my opinion, what Shay had a problem with was the fact that the songs he liked were too hard/"overstepped" for his taste. Maybe this isn't even linked to the difficulty system. Am I the only one who thought this was in fact linked to the possibility of multiple difficulties in files? I think this may solve the problem.

Rofl so much hate in here. Fun thread eh. I understand the point but what do you want people to do about it ?
1. Make the difficulties go from 1 to 50 ? Would be a LOT of work and the difficulty of a song is way too subjective for that. 2. Step songs differently ? Not possible, stepartists step songs the way THEY feel it the best. 3. Stop putting difficulty spikes in songs ? Would make this game too much repetitive and boring, and it's already a really repetitive kind of game. Some facts I'd like to point out here: 1. Everybody who said "Get Better" was right. The songs' difficulty are judged on how hard it is to -AAA- them. If you can't AAA everything in a difficulty range, you're opinion on the songs are much likely going to be less "Important". 2. Since there are A LOT of songs in this game, it is IMPOSSIBLE to make all of them FEEL like they belong EXACTLY in their category, but they do NOT feel like they should really be moved up or down and if it's the case. Here's an example, to show you what I and many mean: You may think that some songs would be diff. 8.1 (Let's say that it would mean very low 8) but people discuss about it and decide to put it in 7s because the majority of the judges FEEL it like it's a 7.8 or 7.9, it still belongs in 7s, and is now a high 7. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do about this. If the judges made a mistake on a file's difficulty, some very good players will correct them by saying it's 0.2/0.3 lower or higher, and maybe rarely 0.4. If there's anything in my post that you think is wrong just tell me, I'm open-minded. Thx |

FFR: Where people argue the same points and fail to do anything productive
i love you, I agree. We really do need more staff who can organize things and get things like this fixed. Our current staff are just too busy to do anything about things like this.

I agree with you Rebound, there are a lot of things that need to be changed but right now it is too disorganized as you say.
Even if we tell them to do it, they say it takes too much work. Of course, I respect every staff member's schedule. Like the tier points for example. We would have finished it months ago if we had a steady pace at working towards it. However, there aren't too many people to help so I can understand. And that's just it, we've got too many overworked staff. If there were perhaps some more that were willing to take on things like this and had the time, they could be worked on. For example (I know he's not staff yet), qqwerf and the stuff he's been doing around the site has been helpful. We just need more devoted people with free time as staff (current staff, I have nothing against you guys at all; I'm not saying replace you, I'm saying help you).

NO, I didn't say POPN, I said PATAPON!
:P I'm glad after my angry exit to this thread ( I am here, but now as an impartial participant, I said what i had to say ), there is still some humor and a relaxed feel in this thread. My intent was NEVER " Drama ", it was simply to state something I noticed and did not like. It is called OPINION.

There needs to be one (or more) person(s) (I vote qqwref, but that's a different topic
) whose job is to listen to people's bitching on the forums and actually do shit. The other admins are way too busy doing other shit to do small little things here and there and we could use one or two more IMHO.EDIT: justin_ator yep. EDIT2: especially when there are people who are ready and willing to help.
