As I said before I had been on a very hostile forum once, and I wanted to increase the volume of players (it was a forum for a game) so I had invited people to play, /via FB. I thought twice while writing the message and thought I don't want to bring my friends into this. To think that a community like this would have the same thing about it. Sad. These are some excellent ideas we are coming up with. I just wish an admin or two would come in here and discuss. |

![]() Hm. what i think might be good for the site would be a block for certain things. Well what i mean is say some one starts posting well *pictures* of a certain category that the underage are not allowed to look at. some one could mark the thread as a type of spam and have it locked until a mod verifies the cause though im pretty sure that i would be extremely hard especially if people decide to just go through and temporarily lock all threads they see. So i guess if it is used it should be a privilege given to admins to mark as spam and some other members who have been seen trusted by the staff enough to not do what i said earlier. If the thread has had something of an illegal or rule breaking nature posted in it the post/posts should be deleted and the one who posted it should have his posting abilities taken a way for a bit. well its just an idea it even might sound like a crappy one too which you can see many holes in but i hope it is a helpful one.
and also im not 100% sure how everything on the forums works so if some of this is already being used well... >.>

![]() I personally also believe the MainPage needs an overhaul.
Ill work on some site ideas in PS and get back to you. The index should be something that grabs peoples attention, and i dont believe it is doing that. For people who have been here a while its the same old FFR, but i think if i was a new person it just look way to "blah" to be a fun game website. But before i go about this redesign possibly. Are there any specific dimensions of the site i should know about? Or does it use a table that resizes with %'s? and please dont take this as trying to overstep the boundaries. I just figured i would throw some things together and see if it helps at all. for a look at trends and our key demographics: http://www.quantcast.com/www.flashflashrevolution.com its not looking good. But i have faith.

But yea, same with emimith, I've been noticing the sidebars changing as well. The FB button was a nce addition, but I think it do a little better in a differen't spot, I'm still thinking on where though. EDIT: Maybe next to the G+ Icon? and then maybe anyone who decides they just have to have a FB page of their profile could have a like button on their profile as well. (Also maybe just show it as the thumbs up hand)

![]() Admins should make videos of possible updates to the site, such as designs of the homepage, the forum, or even the game itself, with sample pictures in the video and upload those videos to youtube and see if anybody that isn't a member gets interested in FFR.

![]() That, and maybe ask a little bit of community input on new updates as well?
I'm going to say this, but I don't want you guys to take it the wrong way. I appreciate everything you guys do for this site, and you do a wonderful job. I just wonder if perhaps we got more community input on some of the updates (especially things like layouts and "exciting" new homepage updates/etc) then we could even improve on it further? I don't doubt that you guys have good ideas, but perhaps there are community members who are a little more specialized in commercial advertisement and would know a little more about what should be done to the site to grab people's attention? I guess we really just need to find a way to get the community to have a little more input on this, maybe?...

I guess being rude in the ffr scores thread, and trolling with radical and stupid posts that are completely oblivious to the topic that the thread is about is okay.

![]() Oh come on, the monkeyface fad was HILARIOUS.
Getting back to the topic, Devonin is right (as usual) in that the staff are at a fraction of their potential if users are not diligent in bringing posts that break the rules to their attention. One of those rights-and-responsibilities things. Seeing that making embeddable widgets backfired spectacularly and I've already mentioned revamping the Kongregate version of the game, perhaps the next step towards community outreach would be to play up the FFR Perfect Project in the Main Lobby. Basically, it's an effort to get as many songs as possible AAAed on video and posted to YouTube. (It's either that, or organize a fund-raiser for charity at one of those meet-ups you guys have so much fun at.) |

![]() I've actually made that pitch to Velocity before, igotrythm, and I never really got any response to it. I still stand by that suggestion, since it is a good way to get people involved in playing and advertising the game (profile, you can find the thread link there too).
As far as other things go, I just started that community stepping project (found here), and while it somewhat caters to the step-artists (and dubstep fans) of the community, I am encouraging whoever wants to be a part to attempt to do so, since I am hoping for two difficulties and won't be judging the steps very strictly.. Depending on how this first one goes, I might run more of these in other genres. I don't know yet though on that. And last but not least, I just started discussing with Velo about something else that will definitely raise some fun around here soon, but I'm not going into details until Velocity gets back to me about it.
