![]() ![]() The last time I've checked this, the extreme area was slighty bigger. Looks like it might move a little further east. Washington-Baltimore area are in a Tropical Storm Warning. From the NC Coast up to Long Island and New England coasts are under a Hurricane Warning as of 5 AM this morning.

![]() If it does end up being a destructive hurricane (which I hope it doesn't), I hope everyone stays safe. It's gonna be hitting my location as well but not as bad as the eastcoast states.

![]() yea I'd say that's probably a bad idea. We're under a state of emergency in NJ already weeeee.

![]() We're under a state of emergency in Maryland, however the problem is that this is not as strong as it was supposed to be. It was supposed to creep up to a category 4 somewhere in southern Maryland about 2/3 days ago. Now, if you look at more of the images on weather.com, you'll see now it's not even going to be a strong Category 1 Hurricane anymore. Not to mention, New Jersey/New York won't be getting "that" huge hurricane effect that they did years ago with Hurricane Floyd. This is going to basically be deemed a dangerous Tropical Storm. I've heard and read that now about all over (newspapers, radio, news channels.) It still will be quite dangerous, but not "nearly" half as bad as what it "should" have been.

![]() Of course, I agree with you. I'm originally from New Jersey (my home state) and we are accustomed to naturally having a lot of rain (believe it or not). The worst thing out of the six inches of rain to the immense 60-80mph are in fact the wind gusts. That's really what NJ is not normal to have. Other than that, it's just the same as ever, a tropical storm just with insane winds.

![]() Welp, this is gonna be a long weekend. Brought my guitar, amp, and my xbox upstairs, but I can't bring the desktop, meaning I may never get to TALK TO YOU GUYS AGAIN ON THIS COMPUTER! osnap.
But seriously though, yea. Long Island is far from used to 6 inch rain and 60-80mph winds. This'll be interesting. Actually, I think we should do something to block our cat from going downstairs, if anything, I'm not losing my cat.

![]() It's not the same because it's making landfall. Most are off the coast when they rain down on NJ. Also, the concern with this storm is 1. we've had record breaking rains already in the tri-state area and 2. the storm is only moving at 14mph so it's going to be dumping rain on us for a long time which means tons of flooding all over.

![]() There is a damaged power line outside my house from the earthquake... and this storm is probably gonna destroy it from the winds... ;_;

![]() I'm pretty O_O about this storm. Should be interesting. I love crazy weather.
It's strange to see a thread that is increasing in popularity for a change as it gets older. |

![]() guessing from the central pressure and wind speed, it looks like a semi-strong one.
