Yeah. They gave me the impression that they regarded moderation as more of a club than a means of improving the website, and they could still have done that even if they were indifferent to the way they were received.

I can see that. That seems to describe them pretty well and that's probably why I didn't think fondly of them.

Yeah I really don't know how you guys could reach that conclusion about stretchy and guido, unless you're just bitter about getting banned at some point or something.

I made a thread a couple years back about your favorite quotes from TV commercials and stretchy deleted the thread because it was "nonsense".
That topic was a rather fine post and had no need to be deleted.

I can't remember threads in particular, but when I browsed FFR Chat a few years back I saw those two locking a few threads with poor reasons for doing so. This isn't like, say, devonin, where he can make a pretty good case for every thread he locks. It just felt like they had fallen into this kind of comfort zone where they knew the "don't argue with staff" rule (seriously, this should not be a rule) would render any verdict of theirs unchallenged. My memory could be influenced by these few seemingly unfair instances though, and I wasn't very active when they were, so they could have been totally fine outside of these few selective memories and I'm just not remembering it. |

In all honesty though, I think FFR is in a pretty decent place for mods right now. You don't need a ton of moderators for a forum without many active participants...
Oh and... ![]()
