If no one's there to know about it then why should it be embarrassing? I don't drink, but, at the same time, I don't think it'd be a big deal if you wanted to quietly be by yourself and try to forget about some stuff in life or whatevs it is you're drinking for. I do think your motives for getting drunk tip the scales of embarrassment, though, in all honesty.

Can't be as embarrassing as when you drink until you drop unconscious and then one of your friends flosses your ass while you're vulnerable during that unconscious period of time.

Not embarrassing at all unless you're making a complete fool out of yourself on a web cam or something. If you're drinking to get drunk alone though, you must really enjoy being drunk even in isolation.

Drinking alone is something I have done many many times, a quiet few while I go about my evening after a hard day/week. But I do not see the point in drinking yourself stupid alone.
Smitty made a comment about making an ass of yourself on webcam. Valid point, but I have drank with many international friends over skype/cam chats. Talking shit, having a few drinks, catching up. Pretty much the same stuff I would do with a friend if they were present (except i don't have to share any of my drinks ;D)

I don't really see the point unless you're going to be with someone (internet or IRL). For me the purpose of getting drunk is to relax and be extremely opened to every one for once. It's even more fun where there are other people in that state :3
