Not somewhat unlike Alex Burrows and Ryan Kesler before this year, but I digress. Even though he's on Vancouver now (her favourite team), she still hates him as a player. So she was happy we scored; not happy about who scored it. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I have no real fault Luongo's play. All of those goals were either lucky bounces, or beautiful shots.
The rest of the team didn't really show up though. And we're going back to Vancouver. |

You could kind of anticipate that there was something Bruin in Boston.

Game 4 is going to be all about the adjustments Vancouver will make to its game plan with Boston on the attack after Luongo came crashing down to earth. Like San Jose's namesake, the Bruins will likely smell blood in the water. They know that the Canucks are vulnerable, and after the hit on Nathan Horton and subsequent four-game suspension (which will carry over to next season if need be), emotions will be riding higher than ever, even if fingers in the face is now grounds for a 10-minute misconduct call. In either case, it should be water under the bridge by this point. Both teams need to focus on executing instead of just whaling at the opposition, and the reason Vancouver is up in the series is because they think less and pass more, are able to avoid turnovers, and take shots as they come instead of hoping for the perfect shot to fall into their laps. If they stick to those strengths and Luongo regains his form, the Cup will go to the best of the West. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I'm lazy. What else was there to say? Boston got a huge spark after the hit? Vancouver didn't show up in periods 2 and 3? Recchi breaks his own record for oldest player to score in the Finals as well as becoming the oldest multi-goal scorer in the Finals? How Thomas' hit was probably the coolest thing I've seen, not counting goalie fights? How every goal (except the first two) was a beautiful play? We'll be expecting a better Vancouver team and we'll see if Boston responds in a big way now that they have momentum?
See, not a whole lot else to add. Ya happy now? |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Looks like the Canucks can't do anything right when they're away.
EDIT: Shutout. Marchand destroying 3 people. Burrows getting hit by Thomas. Great game. I also fail to see how Luongo "silenced critics" and lets up 12 goals in less than 2 complete games.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
sloppy game once again...
I can't imagine how the previous game, with 8 goals for Boston, was entirely "beautiful" and "lucky" shots. 8 goals can't be entirely coincidental 8 times, can it? I'm pretty sure Boston has just got their act together, just like today's game. We can't discount everything as "lucky". I think it's the usual "crumpling before victory" sort of thing that has plagued Vancouver in the past. Last edited by bmah; 06-8-2011 at 10:43 PM.. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
It's called Bruins are being rough, taunting and rude little ****s. Canucks do not play well when it's violent and they have people trying to get up their ass half the game.
If the Bruins were being passive, as they were before, the Canucks would be winning. And unfortunately being violent in hockey isn't against the rules... therefore it's considered a weakness of the Canucks that they can't take some 'man'.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
See, this is where I thought Ballard would shine (See vs. Sharks when he fights off two guys, by himself, to go after the puck).
Apparently not as rough-and-tough, grind-it-out hockey from Boston, as well as phenomenal goaltending from Tim Thomas puts Boston back into the series with a commanding 4-0 victory. And I know some of you guys will fault Vancouver, but there are a couple bright spots: 1.) It's not like they're not getting chances. 30+ shots today including a quality chance by Henrik that went off the heel of his stick. That goes in, it's a brand new game. 2.) For the most part, disciplined when it comes to scrums. The last bit of the third period kind of killed that though. 3.) Cory Schneider had a good game. Although that all pales in comparison to the clinics that Boston has been putting on the past 2 games. Kudos to them for finding their game and sticking to it. So it's now a best-of-3 for the Stanley Cup. Also, it's a home team series, so far, and one simulation site called this. They said it'd go all 7 games with the home team winning every time. I'm okay with this. =) |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I can get on that.
What should the signs say? I'll spread 'em around Vancouver. We need at least one more quote other than "Schneider for Game 6!" Last edited by T-Force; 06-9-2011 at 03:17 PM.. |
