Alright guys time for massive wall of text explaining the impetus for this thread !_!
//coolstorybro time qqwref and I mentioned a scoring system of adding the combo to the hitting judgement you receive. For example, a perfect being worth 1550, so the combo is worth zero but it's added to the judgement and is still a factor in the score. Missing will definitely still penalize you but not nearly as ridiculous as with the current system. This thread was to show how far this scoring system can be abused to get better ranks. It doesn't even matter if you're like "oh 0-0-1-0 is better", the fact of the matter is that the other person who got the FC has a better registered rank on the file. If the scoring system is changed to the accuracy system, nobody has to be like "the score with the better PA is obviously better" anymore since it *is* a better score haha. Of course you can still mash, but should you get a good rank out of it? HELL NO LMFAO! qqwref can go into more detail about this if you ask him. The problem with making combo the primary scoring factor is that it encourages laziness. What I mean is that rather than trying to figure out certain sections of a file, many players just resort to mashing it so they don't miss. Of course there are patterns/parts of a file that can be undoable for a player, but some take it too far just to get an FC and a better rank. It is a huge slap in the face to the others who actually try to play the file. I'll mention my piano analogy again - would you rather listen to a piano player who misses a few notes in some hard parts or a piano player who smashes the hard parts? The piano player who smashes in the hard parts may have "hit the notes" but also hit a shitload of other notes that aren't supposed to be played so as a result it winds up sounding like an unprofessional piece of trash. I'm pretty sure most of you knew that I'm ffdfadsdasd at this point. None of these scores were hacked or obtained with double setup, but with vibrating and purposely hitting very early (like the RATO one, it's really damn hard to get such horrible accuracy like that even with mashing). Crowdpleaser was actually the toughest FC of the files I played (just look at how ****ing close I was to missing on the trill but how much I cut through RATO, that should've given you guys that didn't know who ffdfadsdasd was an idea haha). As for the story behind ffdfadsdasd, that was my very first account on FFR, but it got blacklisted so I got these scores on ffdfadsdasd2. The story goes all the way back to January 2007 when I used arrow slowdown to get rank 9 on Molto Vivace (hilarious thread too, you guys should read it sometime haha). Another thing I would like to point out is that there should be a feature that makes it so if you save the replay of a run, you can save the score after. I've been able to save replays of a run but it's still not recorded in my level ranks. This would make things much easier for the player rather than having to submit a score to the unrecorded scores page. tl;dr version: I'm ffdfadsdasd, this thread should be enough incentive to change the scoring system, there should be a way to save your score if you save the replay.

Well the thing is that you got a miss in the last 8 notes, so it isn't going to affect your score nearly as much.
A better score to reference would be something like this: 123 GG_Guru 5,821,920 4255 50 6 1 5 3468 Good PA but missed around 3/4 the way through. 115 ffdfadsdasd2 5,985,340 2552 1089 671 0 3332 4312 FC with horrendous everything but it's still a better rank.
