This is the exact same reason I do not like super street figther four. Vanilla wasn't as friendly, but I feel both versions were mash friendly.

wow im sick of seeing people cry about sentinel hes not even hard to kill or a big threat unless u get air combo'd this isnt mvc2 where his moves are unpredictable because his super speed its mvc3 hes so slow u can tell his every move. u need to worry more about the other cheap characters like akuma, dante, or amaterasu.

Sentinel's weak now, no one's complaining anymore =/. He just used to be OP due to high damage and high health, but the patch fixed SOMETHING on him where he's somewhat more balanced now.

Akuma and Ammy have low health though so despite having cheap combos and infinites that no one ever uses, you can most likely kill them in two simple combos. Dante has higher health, but his damage output is low. It does get annoying when you're caught in one of his combos though since they take quite a while to do :V

Sentinel is more fragile now, but I can't bring myself to say he has become "weak": he still has a scary damage output even without X-Factor, and Sentinel Force (Charge) is still one of the best assists in the game.

I find when playing online you need to find ways of dealing with Dante's Teleport (almost always followed up by the easily punishable j.s) Amaterasu's 5 hit reflector combo (timing advancing guards/recognising animation) and Akuma's Tatsu/beam spam (timing advancing guards/blocking). If you know how to handle those, then that's well over half of their players dealt with.

ps. I changed my mains to Ryu, Magneto (Still gotta practice with him), and Sentinel (again, gotta practice with him). I just noticed that gorgeous combo that the guy in the vid ddr_f4n posted in this thread with Magneto, and I'm gonna add more moves to it.

Yeah, Doom's "Bucktooth" combo looks ****ing pretty. Gives Magneto a run for his money in that regard.

In other news, I need to try out these two new events since I've done all the others. Also, Deadpool has surprised me with how rad he is to actually play rather than listen to.

lol I actually landed his level 3 Hyper combo with this noob player online on his Dante when I was screwing around with other characters, funniest thing ever, so enjoyable to watch

On a more technical note, he can hit confirm all day, zones wonderfully and doesn't really need assists or meter as much as other characters to be played effectively. Not a hard hitter by any means, but I like him anyway.
