It's just a good show idk what to tell you man. You might be suffering from hype backlash. I think it's reaching meme status not because it's better than The Wire or something, but because MLP is a franchise notorious for shitty toys and shittier 80's tv shows aimed at girls 6-12, and yet suddenly out comes FiM, a high-quality production whose largest demographic is 20+ dudes. So the dissonance between the audience and the franchise is pretty hilarious in itself.
