Ugh, this is the most depression Easter ever.
I had to get up at 3:00am to drop of the Japanese student I was hosting (the reason I havent been around for the past two weeks) at the airport. We arrived at the airport around 4:19am and met up with the other Japanese students. And then everyone started crying (except for myself and a few of the other host students since we'll see everyone again in a few months...more on that later). Christ, it was depressing. Happy f*cking easter. After the Japanese students left for the plane, all the host students went to IHOP. I ate french toast. Then I went home, slept for a few hours, and then woke up and got ready for Easter Brunch (buffet at some fancy mexican resturant with family friends). Buffets are so not fun when you are sad. I ate ham, rice, chicken something something, flower tortilas, watermelon, and ice cream...and bacon. Then I came home, moped around (the house feels so empty) and then decided to check how the forums were doing. And now I am sad again. Happy f*cking easter. |

1. Really, Christmas is not essential to Christianity. If the holiday is removed then the religion itself would function quite easily. All that really matters is the Week of Passion. 2. Christmas really only exists because of our desire to party during the winter (even though Christmas should be celebrated around the same time as Easter, if not later). That's why it's always been a celebration of such life and vigor. Gifts being given, things being stolen, crimes commited and love being shared. 3. Gimme a while to collect my points on Easter. It's slightly different from Christmas. Q |

i dont think that christianity can jsut throw away something this big completely without having major repracussions (yes typo, doesnt matter). Advent is a large part of the christian year, and without christmas, there would be no advent, therefore what would preists preach to christians about if there is nothing to preach about - being there was no christmas or advent?
Christmas is where is it for several reasons, one being that its there because other religions have big celebrations the same time. The Equinox, Ramadan (maybe another typo, w/e), Qwanza, Tet (SP?), Hanukah (now im being careless with the SP), and other occasions, not that it was an excuse for a party. All the religious occasions are where they are for a reason.

i can't believeall the guys who make fun of celebrating easter as the resurrection of Christ... all i hear is, 'yeah, let's celebrate the dead lord coming back to life with easter eggs and bunnies!'. obviously we adopted the whole bunny and egg thing from some other country's beliefs. it's what we do. anyway, im just saying i don't think it's funny...

I went to bed at 7 PM after acting all crazy on IRC, because my mom woke me up at 8 AM for some reason. Other than that, it was a normal day.

I went to Palm Springs.
That place is: 1. Shithole 2. Gay-nation (not that anything is wrong with them but just too many in one place) 3. Stores closed forever 4. Hot, very hot 5. LONG ASS DRIVE (about 2 hours but still wtf) 6. TRAFFIC COMING HOME OMG (took atleast 4 hours) I had 0 fun. On Saturday I got $20 from my aunt so that made everything better. |
