I've noticed that quite a few people have had this KBO .gif image in their signatures:
![]() Unfortunately the original brings the signature well over the 1MB limit rule that was pretty recently added to the signature guidelines, so I have to remove it. However I've made smaller versions so people can still have this .gif image in their signatures while staying under the 1MB limit. Everybody is happy this way. 8) Select a size based on how much other content you have in your sig. Make sure to check what the file size is of each before using them. Please take note that I did not create this .gif image. I simply re-sized it. 65% of original size: ![]() 60% of original size: ![]() 55% of original size: ![]() 50% of original size: ![]() |

Not your fault that gif is still somehow the animated image format standard in 2011.

There really does need to be some better alternatives out there. Ones that are actually supported on boards.

Is there really such a thing as an animated png? I think if you just make a gif and rename it to a png it will just be labeled wrong but the browser will still know what to do with it.
example ![]() nvm, imageshack changed it back to a gif. At any rate the point was that the file extension is only a label to tell your operating system or a program what to do with that file when opened. Last edited by Izzy; 02-1-2011 at 04:03 AM.. |

Yes.
Take for example, all online status notifications on profiles. ![]() If you're in chrome you wont see it animate.
