Two Suggestions and Four Errors
I wouldn't be surprised if something similar to these have been brought up before but I haven't noticed anything of the sort being mentioned since the site last came back to life.
Suggestions: Individual Simfile/Song Display (Update: Alternate solution has been put into place. Widget songs have been disabled.) (This would be something for simfile artists and music producers.) Having the option to enable or disable simfiles/songs as being displayed on our profile. It could look something like this within the style editor: The main reason why I suggest this is because it'd be nice to be able to highlight a select few files/songs that we are more proud of instead of having potential files/songs that we don't care to show. (In my case, all of the crappy widget files I made in the past lmfao) It could be a way to have a top list of our favorite pieces as well. (Similar to the top 10 level stats.) Photo Upload Time Stamp (Update: Implemented by Velocity.) A simple line of text under the photo that tells you when you uploaded the photo. An example of where it could go would be under the photo and above "Picture Comments": It isn't a big deal, but I think it'd be a nice thing to have a record of and it wouldn't be difficult to implement. Denying Friend Requests: (Update: Implemented by Velocity.) Having a "Deny All" option for friend requests would be good too. I know for sure this was suggested before. It's a good idea. BBC Updated / SoundCloud in Random Thoughts (Update: Implemented by Velocity.) Thought of another suggestion. Having the ability to put a SoundCloud player (see below) in a random thought. http://soundcloud.com/hammy/a-relic-in-memory-wip New Profile Layout: Forum Post Section (Update: Implemented by Velocity.) On the old profile system there was a link to all of your forum posts and all of the threads you've created under the "Last 10 Forum Posts" section. If there's a way to incorporate that neatly into the new layout within the "Forum Post" section, I think it would be a convenient feature. Keeping Profile Chat Open on the New Profile Layout (Update: Implemented by Velocity.) If you close chat on the old profile layout, the chat will be closed on the new profile layout. Since there's no button to open or close the chat on the new profile layout, which makes sense because it is in its own section, closing profile chat on the old profile layout should be made to not have any affect on the new profile layout. That way you don't have to switch between layouts if you are on the new profile layout and need to open it back up. Bugs/Errors: Pending Friend Requests: (Update: Fixed by Velocity.) It'd look a lot nicer if the list of pending friend requests on the new profile style started from towards the top of our profile instead of with a huge gap above it. (See screenshot below.) Friends Lists (Update: Too intense to run this action on the server.) I believe that in the early stages of profiles when you didn't have to accept a friend request, if person A removed person B from their friends list, person A wasn't removed from person B's friends list as well if applicable. As we all know friendships are now mutual and removal reflects both people, but there are still people who have me added that I don't have added on my friends list. My "Recent Friend Actions" gets flooded with their updates all the time lmao. If there is a way to fix this, that would be great. Another issue with friends lists has to do with the top 16. Say person B has person A on their top 16. If person A removes person B from his/her friends list, person A isn't removed from person B's top 16 despite them being removed from person B's friends list. FAQ (Update: Fixed by Sprite.) The FAQ needs some pretty significant updating done to it. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/faq.php A few sections that are outdated: What are some good songs for FFR beginners? -Most songs listed got moved into the Legacy category, so the genre locations are now incorrect. What are credits? -List of secret songs hasn't been updated for awhile. I'm sure there's more but that's all I'll bother listing here for now. I could look through it more in depth if someone is willing to update it as I do so. Credit Jackpot (Update: Fixed by Velocity.) And I figured I'd throw this in here because I keep on seeing it being ignored. Here are all of the guesses. Thanks. xD Last edited by HammyMcSquirrel; 01-25-2011 at 05:27 AM.. |

I've been wanting a "Deny all" option for the longest time. That also goes for a "delete all comments" option. PS: That "is" typo is lol xD

Very nice suggestions! Great for those who have a mess on their profiles who want to clear it out. I also like the FAQ mention, it is definitely way out of date.

But I like the first simfile author idea, the being able to show only the charts you want to. I know I'm not a simfile author but when I go onto their profiles, they'll have lists that are extremely long so it takes a while to get to the bottom of the page to comment :P

Re: Two Suggestions and Four Errors
Since I do believe it got ignored in the other thread and we seem to have Velo keeping watch in this one, I'll bring up one more thing:
Embedding replays in Random Thoughts. If you have a saved one that you absolutely love and want the world to see, you can embed it and everyone going to your profile would see it and could watch it.

Re: Two Suggestions and Four Errors
Please, Big V., hear my demands!
1) Make Collaborations show on a simfile/musician's profile. 2) Make links to the both the simfile artists profile or muscians profile on the song list instead of a compound non-existent link aka >link to [Collaborator 1] & >link to [Collaborator 2] instead of >Link to [Collaborator 1 & 2] (which, of course, leads to a non-functioning profile/website) These are the 2 single most bothersome features or lack thereof on the site. Thanks! |

Re: Two Suggestions and Four Errors
Self-expression has never come easy, and having a fear of criticisms tends to hurt. I don't know how I was able to send you my song for notes - although I'm very glad I did (and lol, you're one of the like twelve people telling me to stop being shy).

Re: Two Suggestions and Four Errors
To be honest, the whole reason it took so long to ask to help FFR when it first came back is because I'm way to shy and as AJ said himself "fear of criticism".
But once I'm in the system, then I'm better at expressing myself. Unrelated: "Deny All" for friends list is coded, just need to add a url to actions. Last edited by Velocity; 01-13-2011 at 02:15 AM.. |
