I have been playing excite bike and doing the math on this token. The goal is to attain 2 perfects, 4 goods, 6 averages, 8 misses, and 10 boos with a 12 combo. You don't have to beat the song.
Well I have come down to that averages don't bring up your life bar at all, and perfects as well as goods raise it up equally. So say you start off with 8 life because it takes 8 boos to lower your life all the way down from the beginning. I get 5 of the boos out of the way leaving me with 3 life. I then hit the 2 perfects, 4 goods, and 6 averages bringing my life to 9. I then drop the other 5 boos out of the way leaving me with 4 life. Then I can only get 6 misses before its game over. No matter what combination I use this just doesn't work. I personally believe this achievement is impossible. I have searched the forums over for any advice on this and the only thing I have come up with is set the autofail to 8 misses but that doesn't matter anyway. I am sorry if this belongs under a different thread already but I searched and couldn't find much addressing this token. I have a pic of what I am talking about too. |

You have to get the final boos last. You can get more boos even when your meter is empty.

O... well thats kind of silly relying on sort of glitching the health bar....

Yep, but that's part of the challenge.

It's supposed to be a difficult requirement - but it IS possible if you have the right approach.

You start with 10 life, not 8.
78 people would say that it's very much possible, including myself.

given that a couple of other tokens exploit the mechanics of auto-fail, this isn't unprecedented

Auto-fail isn't required for this token ?_? I'm sure a lot of people used it, but if you do it right you will fail out normally anyway.

I set a really strict auto-fail for this token because I got my different accuracies in blocks. I set my auto-fail to 3 perfects, 5 goods, 7 averages, 8 misses, 11 boos, iirc.

no auto-fail isn't exploited for this one, but I'm saying that artifacts of how the ffr engine is implemented and what it allows you to do have been exploited for tokens in the past

I didn't even use autofail for it. Just mashed my boos and guessed the accuracy and got it after like 10 tries xD

Ok maybe its not impossible.... lol
Thanks awein999 for the help on using the boos once the screen starts blanking out. Thanks rushyrulz for telling me about the 10 starting health which let me use more boos at the beginning then I thought I could. And thanks TC_Halogen for the parameters of a good auto-fail so as to make my attempts much quicker when I missed up. And as for customstuff, you are teh lame >=/ 10 tries? WTF that took me a WHOOOLLLEEE lot more than 10. |

~20-30 minutes the first time (~50 tries), ~5 minutes the second time (~10 tries). Once you have Starman, Crow Song, and a few Synthlight AAAs, this isn't so awful. |

The problem with getting Starman is you can BS it by hitting goods above the receptors lol
