![]() *resists hurting someone for this question being asked*
It doesn't matter if you play one or two handed. I play two-handed, but not the style Arch did (Index). Simply put, practicing one style will make you good in it. One isn't better than the other. Just depends on how you play with it. |

![]() Index takes more time to perfect but offers the best speed as far as I know. However it obviously sucks at jumps and such, you'll never be as versatile. But the most common method, two hands, four fingers (on arrows or ZX,.) is usually the easiest to learn and get moving with. You'll probably notice a weakness in one of your hands or doing trills with just one hand that you wouldn't notice with indexes. Finally there's one-handed, which is hard, although of course you can improve your skills with it just like any other method and become extremely good with it. It's usually just a way to impress people - unless I'm mistaken, there are no patterns that one-handed is actually better at. Also your wrist will hurt like hell

![]() I've gotten good enough at one hand that I don't question how hard a simfile will be based on what style I play. Although I don't have a lot of Eggman's files because of the patterns.
And I've B'd Quasar 1.5 |

![]() after watching this video clip, i start to wonder my one handded style is best for speed. with right handed people the ring fringer is hardest for speed. i ALWAYS have a tuff time getting speed with my ring fringer. doing stuff like going back and foruth beteween down and right arrows. i would have trouble doing somthing as simple as this, but at a very fast speed.

![]() I also have problems with that pattern at anything above 200 bpm. I find myself stomping the trills instead (^> over and over) and getting Great/Marv alternately if I'm lucky

![]() Lol, you just saw that video clip! ROFL!
Seriously, do what comes naturally. I naturally play with 2 hands in a very odd style, other people (like Afrobean) naturally do things 1-handed. I can barely do anything 1-handed, and Chris has a hard time using 2 hands at once. Obviously, though, using 2 hands makes everything easier, but for some people it's very unnatural.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright. And I write the blog for their website. Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O |

![]() Since we are talking about keyboard styles, I guess I shall post my method too. It is a little bit harder to start out with this technique, but when you look at the statistics of how many of each type of arrow, combo, and pattern, I believe it fares better on the hands than the traditional 4 finger 'ZX,.' player.
Here is the link if you would like to check it out. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ewtopic&t=4993 |

![]() I have tried all methoods of play exept Spread. I don't see how anyone could do that. I personally play on DS controller. But I really think 1 handers have thier limitations and indexers do also. Anything above that has its limitations, but it is hard to reach them.

![]() I have two friends who play with joypads, using left d-pad, a button, and two shoulder buttons. It's... ridiculous.
