4 hours was the total amount. I actually started this rampage in late August.
I did this all on Lvl 4. It got too repetitive.

How do you do better than the maximum score? It stopped me and ended my rampage once I got to that score.

EDIT2: No, that's 6 hours. You're looking at 4 minutes.

It's very easy to beat a score like that on a game as easy as that.

Why are you able to pause in a nonstop gamemode?

In X2, and almost every other DDR game, it gives you a break stage, where you can rest and then play again.
For X2, it's 5 rounds, then a results screen of what you've accomplished so far. It also will give you an option to save the progress.
Technically, yes, you can pause in Endless/Nonstop Mode, but, in reality, no.

Meh... I'll do it all straight when I get the chance.
I did about 240 stages one day in August, forgot about it all, then remembered it on Thursday.
