Re: I want a new keyboard
I had this one for awhile but I switched to a Filco:
http://www.ergogeek.com/index.php?ta...product_id=407. One of the best reasonably priced mechanical kb's out there. I recommend it |

Re: I want a new keyboard
pewp, you do realize a majority of the best players use a slim keyboard, so.....saying they suck really is proving you wrong, seems to be working fine for them, scores show it.

Re: I want a new keyboard
What does working with computers have anything to do with one's playability on a keyboard? lol. Just because you believe that those types of keyboards are better to play with doesnt mean everyone has to bow down, suck your dick and assume you are correct. Its all opinion so quit trying to assume you have a definite answer because there isnt one.
Funny how you are referring me as a kid when you are the one with the maturity to come up with the name "pewp". gg |

good players can get scores with rubbish keyboards becuase they have talent not because of the keyboard being good mechanical keyboard = advantage because the keys are more responsive and only need to be pressed down half as far as a normal keyboard you also get audio feedback so you can tell when your key registers any person using a mechanical keyboard will automatically be faster than if they were using a normal one or a scissor keyboard http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?tit...rted+By+Switch here you go smitty you want a lower g like 35-50 but do not go higher than 55 or the keys will be too hard to press and whatever you do dont buy a keyboard just because it lights up 99% of the best keyboards are very boring and plain looking infact the only good keyboard that lights up that comes to mind is the deck legend which I would not recommend because its like 55g to press keys on it also make sure the keyboard has nkey rollover or it wont support multiple key presses and will screw you over on stepmania expect to pay about $60-200 for the keyboard but it will be worth it edit: if anyone gets butthurt by these statements go read this explanation of the different types of keyboards and learn why mechanical keyboards are so GG http://www.overclock.net/keyboards/4...ard-guide.html (under mechanical switch)

Re: I want a new keyboard
ok, if thats the case why do most of the best players choose slim keyboards before bulky? If these keyboards are for sure the best, why doesnt everyone use them? Maybe because like I said it's ones OPINION! Duurrrrr. There is no right or wrong answer, whatever kb one feels most comfortable on is the one that will be the best for them. So stop trying to defend yourself like you are right because no one is.

the keys respond faster and it takes less effort to press them also you get audio feedback which makes it easier to keep beat mechanical keyboards are a superior technology the only downside is that they are expensive so they arent for scrubs that only want to spend $20-30 dollars Pros: Very quick snap back into rest position Don't necessarily have to bottom out to actuate Very durable - some are rated up to 100 million keystrokes but still go for much longer Virtually no degradation - the feel remains almost constant over the lifetime of the switch Replacement of a single switch is possible if one goes bad Cons: Expensive

Re: I want a new keyboard
The response time of a keyboard really doesnt f'in matter unless the keyboard is complete **** and just doesnt react till like 5 secs later or something dumb. If one was to buy one of these keyboards, its not going to increase their reaction timing and do better with this game in the snap of a finger. Im not going to get one of these things and magically be able to AAA Death Piano just because the keyboard can respond better. If the player cant do it based on their skill, the keyboards response time doesnt mean ****. The reason why slim keyboards help(not necessarily better) is because if you go from a bulky ass one with big keys, the transition to slimmer ones makes it so your tapping distance isnt as far as a drop so you can get more keytaps in. Slimmer keys and being lower to the keyboard is why many players tend to have better speed, hence why people like dossar, samurai, staiain, and all those speed players use slim keyboards. Technicality of the keyboard has nothing to do with how well one plays. No one is going to bother to spend hundreds of dollars on a keyboard when one that is easily $20-$40 works equally as good.

your arguement is that because someone has a nub product and cant afford something that is more expensive but is 100% superior in every aspect that somehow they can feel better and pretend their entry level trash is as good as a more expensive superior product? I suppose in your eyes a toyota camry is the same as a european supercar and the difference in power/technology/handling is "based on opinion" and thats why more teens choose a $2000 car over a european exotic that looks better/drives better/has more technology/is more powerful/gets better fuel economy go and read both of the links I posted and actually research what keyboard design even does before you come on this topic and try to talk like your $15 keyboard is the same as a $250 happy hacking pro no matter how much you like/dislike the keyboards a mechanical keyboard will still take less effort to press the keys and will still respond quicker than a normal keyboard because its designed that way its a scientific fact and it is not open to interpretation the only reason you choose a different keyboard over a mechanical keyboard = you do not have enough money

Re: I want a new keyboard
How do scissor keys take effort to push? Resting my finger on the key can be enough to click it.
