She has the same problem that I did when I first started stepping. People get better over time, and to be quite honest, the deviance in ratings with her being in the judging seat shows that she has a fair opinion that differs from the other judges - something that is nice for having in a 3 person group because it allows to cover all bases.

reference more songs than just the final hour lmao its like your only file you think is worth mentioning. btw using a file for the final hour as your selling point probably isnt the greatest idea *just sayin*
i honestly dont care who ends up in the judging position because both are just as capable as one another

I use the final hour because midnight siege I didn't bother to try to pr or anything in it just wanted a fun streaming chart. Highly volatile was just experimental for me. Then there's sexplosion which I rushed to get in for stepwars on time and I'm def not happy with that chart all the way through altho I love the swing section. I have a ton of wips but most of them I'm stuck on plus Carlos there have been fixes made to the final hour. It's in for the next batch so we'll see what's said I guess. What I should finish is the nks song you had sent me a while ago and I started stepping but then stopped lol. |

Lol I really should I actually plan on starting to step again there was just too much junk going on before for me to focus on it. I never even got around to starting on the collab we were going to do. Did you end up finishing that yourself?
Going to open sm now and look at all the wips I have this should be interesting since some of them I started before the site went down XD. |

I've gone through and tabulated how many points each file has gotten for whatever group they were sitting in, based on how many points they have. Files are in order from point values.

swear to god, it looks like JX, Silvuh and I could not agree very often - one of us would have a rating that stands out from the other two, it's hilarious.

Since I have a bit of time tonight, I'm going to fix up My Half and send it, if the batch is still open.

Wow, those ratios are messed up. For big disagreements, I thought we already applied a measure to mitigate something like that - how effective WAS that measure when you see the end results of file acceptances? Haha, in any case, we need to sort crap like this out. The ratios scream out that something isn't quite right.

What if that quarter of the batch is just that much worse?

I won't lie - our batch did have some weaker files. The batch that Kayla had seemed noticeably stronger in terms file quality - I was glancing over while working on One Winged Angel a while ago.

This page should probably be posted somewhere on the judge page and maybe this page as well.

While this may be true, my suspicions regard the level of detail and scrutiny between various judges. That's what's fishy. Beyond quality of the files themselves, you have to inspect it this way - how files were evaluated.

Fair enough. But what can be done to compensate for such a high amount of "error"?

Nothing but experience. Which means that let's hope that simfilers AND judges learn from each batch judgment.
