Metalcore - The Devil Wears Prada/August Burns Red/Asking Alexandria/etc.
Then we've got bands like Of Machines and Enter Shikari and Angels and Airwaves. I'll listen to pretty much any alternative rock though. Oh and dubstep is only awesome when Enter Shikari infuses it with their music, otherwise it's really not that good...

such a hipster response but the only "dubstep" i really like is burial (and he's barely dubstep either way)
anyways last.fm says thisa bout me: "I'm into indie, rock, electronic, experimental and ambient" i guess those are a few really broad genres |

Pretty much anything except all the mainstream crap that everyone else listens to... Such as Kanye West, and 50 Cent and all them. I used to listen to all Metal, Nu, Deathcore, Hardcore, etc... But now I only listen to it sometimes. I like some underground Rap such as Immortal Technique. But I listen to mostly Indie, and Classic Rock at this moment.

I ventured far away from techno after FFR went down.
Now I'm more into indie pop/rock. The Postal Service Radical Face Death Cab for Cutie Electric President Sufjan Stevens Angels and Airwaves cars & trains Silversun Pickups Ólafur Arnalds Iron & Wine <-- seeing them November ![]() Benoit Pioulard Melpo Mene Andrew Bird Bright Eyes Vitamin String Quartet Cloud Cult Vampire Weekend The Decemberists Regina Spektor Manchester Orchestra Say Anything Passion Pit The Bravery MGMT Twoo Door Cinema Club A few of my favorites, listen to the bolded the most. EDIT - I'll listen to almost anything, really. Popularity is not an object. Last edited by Shadowcliff; 10-30-2010 at 12:53 PM.. |

Some guy changed a Garage beat into a 2-step and then a couple other guys put other stuff with that 2-step, then people added effects and stuff, and then people heard about it and loved it... It's starting to become mainstream now since Excision was interviewed on MTV and it's been put in commercials and movies now.

I'm definitely for calm music too - but I'm not sure how to describe it.
Examples: - My Chrysalis Highwayman (Fallout) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIP90IV6EqA - Hell (Terminal 11) - Redding (Fallout) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nYtFgo44ws The funny thing is, I play hard songs on stepmania and I'd probably expect to listen to faster stuff but tracks that create a sort of "depressing" atmosphere actually can help me concentrate more and are very nice to listen to. |

I just can't really get into it either. I do like 8-bit though.
