This is weird... I would have to assume that you're doing something wrong unless I could see a video of your feet. Perhaps I'll get some shots of myself when I head to the arcade today. I do remember at least that it seemed too difficult for me to master when I was learning to use the back of my foot to hit notes, and I was getting a lot of misses where I shouldn't have. It does take time, and its only your 1st week of trying to change to a completely different step style. I'd say its just a matter of perseverance and patience.

I'll try and record myself next time I play trying both styles. My usual, and then a flat foot style, and try my best at uploading it somewhere.

My tip toeing style at least doesn't lead me to stay far out on the buttons. I do mostly use just the corners of the pads, which in essence I believe is going the right way about it.

I'm doubting the way I am trying to flat foot is correct though, as I'm stamping on the ground foot flat on the floor taking all the energy away, and I'm guessing the trick is to use half tip toes/half back foot, and not the center/bottom of the foot, correct?

I've really enjoyed trying those step-files out though, so thanks Really looking forward to trying another set once I try and perfect some of these. I'm surprised myself that I managed to pass them to be honest

*EDIT

Still have no idea how anyone can get the scores they get. Excellents are far too easy to get, even if Greats are avoidable, haha

We have a winner! This is exactly what we're doing. It seems like the foot is literally flat the whole time because usually the feet are moving too fast, but its definitely closer to this... Using the center of the foot as a fulcrum, and tilting the foot either forward or backward a bit.

Glad you like them... and there's plenty more fun stuff out there to play. I was surprised by some of the scores, the Loituma more than anything. The faster songs, you're about where I thought you'd be, especially with your playing style.

PA is very hard to refine, and it can only come after a lot of playing. I just started to get decent PA on 10s and 11s (like **s and better), even though I can pass much harder songs. Honestly, I think my PA on feet is about the same as KB for 10s and 11s XD

Haha not bad really, and you are 21 correct? I'm 23. I think I may be learning a bit late, but better late than never. I'm still fit enough
I doubt I'll be quad starring any time soon either.

How long have you been playing for in total?
I've probably been playing for 5-6 years the way I do now. Not 100% sure on that.

So you are basically pretty much staying still most of the time, but on the left foot on the up arrow, using tip toes, and on the left, the heel of the foot, and on the right foot, the tip toe on the right, and the heel on the down?

I will film myself next time and try and upload it like I said, and see what is said about it.
I definitely don't think due to my muscles locking up for no apparent reason, that I could teach my foot to vibrate like I've seen however. I've always had an issue with repeating an action over and over

I read though after watching a video about a sort of muscle fibre that is a fast kind, rather than the standard slow reacting type, so who knows.

*Edit

Thinking of also buying the black textured arcade mod for the Cobalt Flux. Would this help? May as well replace the decals while I'm at it, as the shipping price is killer either way

The arcade mod can be extremely helpful if you get lost on the pad a lot. The mod raises the panels up higher so you can actually feel where the sensors are. However, if you dont have trouble keeping yourself centered on the pad, it might be unnecessary.

Well tomorrow (today) is another session (once I get up)

I don't really have any trouble no, but I figured maybe the mod would make it easier to switch from using toes to heels on some songs, forcing me to do it if I correct the way I play. Perhaps not though

Hmm, it would seem I can't do hardly anything today.

I got up rather late, and this is the only hour I can play, and I can't pass anything.

I don't know how that can be, but it seems to be that way
Don't have the stamina
