...since we read Night in class. It's not the one in Washington D.C. but it's the best the school here in Texas can do. It sounds like it'll be fun, dead bodies and all. Who the hell puts a gift shop in one of these places, I'll never know. I'm sure it'll be a life-changing experience. Who else has been to this one or another and how did you feel about it.

No no no. I WISH we were going to the one in Washington D.C. We're just going to the one in Houston about an hour away.

I live in Maryland and have been to the one in D.C. quite a few times for grade school in the past. It really makes you think about what people in the Holocaust had to go through and the terrible things the Nazis did to people. Its a really great museum overall.

I hugged a holocaust survivor from my city =D
After we read the book, we went to a Holocaust museum as well; a small family operated one. Later that day, we heard from a guest speaker who happened to be a holocaust survivor. I forgot exactly why, but she gave me a hug. Also, I've been to the one in D.C. Powerful stuff...

Yea I always wanted to go to The Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. I went to the Blacks In Wax Museum in DC and it was amazing. Upstairs is all the famous star's and legendary people and downstairs is some crazy stuff. Downstairs shows how it was back then being a slave and how they were treated. One of my friends almost got sick and threw up. Yeah I read Night it was a amazing book; the first book i read all the way thought without stopping.

I'm in the middle of Night at the moment, and I'm not too impressed with it so far. I've read other holocaust books that in my opinion were way better than Night. Oh well. I went to a museum last year, they can definitely end up showing you some brutal stuff.

Night was a pretty good book. I read ahead of everyone in class.
Anyway, the museum was pretty good. Everything was donated by people so they could teach it without it being "politically correct". It was pretty deep seeing pictures of them torturing and doing expirements on them. It was also cool being on a cattle-car. I wouldn't want to do it for years but all in all it was pretty interesting. Also, Patashu, they killed invalids, homosexuals, blacks, Jahova's Witnesses, and disabled people as well. |

Sounds like a neat place to visit. I had a book with pictures taken from the camps and it was some creepy stuff.

Houston has a Holocaust Museum so there's less of a chance for me to buy a plane ticket. Never been to the museum though.
