FFR is combo scoring tho so the only reasonable way to give TPs at all for songs that are stupidly hard to FC is to do it more or less by combo. It's annoying the way it works sometimes... Good luck on that one lol, CP only has 1236 notes in it.

But the idea's pretty sound. It might also help identify botters: you could set up a flag that would go off when someone gets any PA (on a full song run) of better than ~80 goods on RATO or DP. You'd keep a small list of players who you know can do it legitimately, but anyone else would be looked into more closely. I guess whoever was doing this would have to have at least some participation in the community.

So yeah not as cool besides leonid and owas score but my previous best was 100 good NON FC on it, I got surprised by the jacks on the end left hand (trio) and got perfect-good-average-boo D: but I aaa'ed like EVERYTHING between 1400 and 2000

Something in FFR needs to be PA based. Tier Points would be perfect. Honestly, nothing should be combo based. -_-

exactly i strongly agree who ever made the ffr scoring system should change it..basically any newby can smash his keyboard to death and rank better than you because a fc..i wish the scoring was like ddr

I highly, highly doubt it'll ever change because of how a lot of things on this site would need to be changed if everything went PA based. It'd probably take a lot of work and we all know how FFR feels about work. Besides NSane.

Stepmania doesn't have highscore lists and KBO is gonna have serious permission issues soon.

The biggest amount of work required for implementing PA for TPs would be recording a user's best PA on each song. The first step would be to convert every score players have into ingame score (this is easy, (50*perf+25*good+5*avg-5*boo-10*miss)), and adding code that would replace this number whenever you beat it. By doing that, you wouldn't have to get any old scores again. Once that's done, they'd just have to redo the TP code to look at the user's best ingame score and give points based on that. Since nothing would be combo-based anymore, they'd probably want to rewrite some of the lower TPs too... I don't know how much PA would deserve a given rank, but I'm sure people with more stepmania experience would be really good at figuring this out.

Keybeat sucks. Its SM put into flash and stuck on a site with ranks. They said it was going to be the next step in flash gaming or whatever they chose to say about it, all I see is a beat down copy of SM on a website. And like qqwref said, they are going to have mad permission issues if they site ever makes it anywhere.

Stepmania is where it is at. I dont like FFR's scoring that much, but I would play it before keybeat.
