Re: Best team in the NFL?
I bet you couldn't say the Cleveland Browns with a straight face either. Quinn with 2 interceptions and 4 sacks in route to a 16-0 loss to the Ravens. One passing TD, 3 INT, nad 10 Sacks for the year for Quinn.

Re: Best team in the NFL?
Top team is obviously either the Colts or the Saints. They're unbeaten. I'd put the Saints on top because they've got the most pieces in place. Indy is rock solid but they're quite thin at several positions. After that, it gets a little murky. The Vikings are a trendy pick, and rightfully so. I wouldn't put the Bengals up there. Until recently, they've had a lot of questions at virtually every position. They're riding a hot streak, but I expect them to fade as the season wears on. There are number of teams that are playing well but with some questions.
In regards to the Steelers, I wouldn't say they have a terrible offense at all. Remember, that terrible offense won the game in Superbowl XLIII. Roethlisberger is on pace for a great season, with almost 2,500 yards so far. Rashard Mendenhall has been performing quite well, and the O-line is finally getting it together. I think I should also mention the presence of Superbowl MVPs Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, along with Heath Miller (easily one of the best tight ends in the league), and Mike Wallace (an excellent rookie). I think the stats and rings at the end of the year will speak for themselves, just as they did last year. All the trendy picks of the season of course will fall by the wayside, as they almost always do, and the pundits and fans continue to show that they don't really have much of a grasp on the sport they invest so much time in. Meanwhile, the best teams show up and get it done in the end, with no regard to what columnists have to say.

Re: Best team in the NFL?
After the past game for both NO (Sorry, St Louis shouldn't be that close to beating you) and IND (Sorry, but Belichick is an idiot), I'll say Minnesota.

Re: Best team in the NFL?
I've been with the saints a year before reggie bush came in so I have to go with them since they are my team. Drew Brees is doing well

Re: Best team in the NFL?
Sure as hell NOT the Saints. Yea, they are now 9-0. Big deal. They have THE WORST defense in the league.. It takes a good defense to win a game. I have a VERY good feeling they are going to be either JUST like the Pats (18-1), or they are going to lose in the play-offs. I called it here.

They've got back to back road games at Minnesota and at Sand Diego, and if they win both of those games, then I'd be afraid to face them in the playoffs for sure... I see them going 13-3. Quote:
What makes the Saints good is not that they've won all their games, but how they've been able to win in the different situations. They win games that they're supposed to, St. Louis; they can come back from a huge defecit and win in double digits, Miami; and they have the ability to simply outscore any opponent. |
