Trinity Blood is pretty kick-ass especially when the rev. goes into Crusnik form (I haven't watched anime in ages...)

Elfen Lied and Gantz are like, more focused on gore than actual fighting.

Samurai Champloo, Black Lagoon, Hellsing Ultimate are all heavy on badass action and not bad shows, either. Darker Than Black is pretty intense at some points as well. Namely, any point where a palm muted guitar riff starts playing in the background. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann counts as badass, right? Maybe Baccano too.

There's probably a bunch I'm forgetting.

Yuyu Hakusho was pretty badass haha.
Gantz is a definite (more so than Elfen Lied for sure)
Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X
FMA at some points.
As cool as paranoia agent was, it wasn't really all that badass...
