What stargroup said would be right, since I kinda fooled around with the connection to the end. If it isn't too much trouble to change.

well let's discuss about genres.

Starwolf - will be in Arcade
Beethoven Virus - can be in Classic
bmv578 - style is dance/rave but I like it being in classic considering the original.
Chaos Japan - Arcade maybe?
CSGS - will be in Misc
PC1 anti ares - I personally don't see a big problem, need more opinions (arcade-like can be a reason for arcade)
Jazz and Pops for Funk - I don't think those are very similar to Funk, it depends on people's opinions.
anime (pop) - mostly dance

Think Funky Jazz.

Piano Concerto 1 was used in a Pad Pack. Thus it should be in Dance.

bmv.578 is more techno than classical even if it uses a piano. If the original song is used in the game, then it should be in classical.

Piano Concerto 1 contains songs that are recognizable to the point that they're easily identified with a game.
eg. Kirby, songs from other rhythm games.
I argue for Arcade.

Right, here's my opinion on these songs:

Starwolf: yes, arcade - Starfox is a very well-known Nintendo game
Beethoven Virus: no doubt should be in the classical section; this song is practically the third movement of the well known Pathetique
bmv578: genre is "progressive" and does have a rave-classical mixture, but just like Classical Insanity, general theme of song should place it in the classical section
Chaos Japan: I didn't know this came from a game...?
CSGS: agreed
anti-ares: song is definitely a medley of various songs; several from rhythm games, but the fact that there's mainly a big kirby theme as well should place the song in the arcade section - many songs should still be quite recognized amongst video-gamers

Jazz and Pop for Funk section? NO - these are all very distinct and separate music genres and are in no ways similar
Anime stuff: dance section is probably the most encompassing section, other than misc.

ska cha cha should be spelled Ska-Cha-Cha > arcade (original song from Sonic Rush - DS)
let mom sleep > arcade (original song from Jet Grind Radio - Dreamcast)

Yes, these songs have been in wrong locations for a long time now, but should still be fixed.

Just how recognizable are these songs? Don't think they're representative enough to be in the arcades section - not classically recognizable tunes. I still have to make a clearer distinction as to what makes a video game song recognizable enough to be in the arcade section, but typically we're talking about very reknown, popular games that most people can recognize. Sonic Rush and Jet Grind Radio aren't one of them.

QFT. I don't think that a song being in a video game is enough by itself to mean the best placement of the song is in arcade. If a typical FFR player would not hear the song and go "ah, I remember hearing this in [game]", you'd end up with far more people who are confused about why the song's there than people who would notice a problem if the song wasn't in Arcade. I think it's better to aim for the genre groupings to make sense to casual players. If a song is from a video game or is a video game remix, though, we can put that in the song's style without being confusing.

Starwolf - will be in Arcade (Yes)
Beethoven Virus - can be in Classic (Should be considering its a remix)
bmv578 - style is dance/rave but I like it being in classic considering the original. (Keep it classical because its only a remix)
Chaos Japan - Arcade maybe? (Is this from a game or not, if not, it should be dance)
CSGS - will be in Misc (dont know what song this initial belongs to.)
PC1 anti ares - I personally don't see a big problem, need more opinions (arcade-like can be a reason for arcade) (arcade)
Jazz and Pops for Funk - I don't think those are very similar to Funk, it depends on people's opinions. (Personally, there should be a new catagory. Combine funk with jazz and arrangements EX: feldschlacht, Going on spring wind, Final step, Piano X forte etc... That kind of music. I know, arrangements, jazz and funk are very different from another, but its beter than putting them in like say misc or in the wrong catagory)
anime (pop) - mostly dance (Should be a whole other catagory to combining anime and touhou crap)

Ive been saying this for years now and it seems to be going on deaf years. Should have a breakcore section. No reason not to considering how many breakcore songs we have. You can also combine it with DNB if you want, but ultimatly, Breakcore sould have its own catagory.

Personally, a lot of the songs needs to be trasferred from one catagory to another and if anyones interested, I can go over all of them

Starwolf -- Arcade (Star Fox--I think...)
Beethoven Virus -- Classic
bmv.578 -- Dance/Classical (I don't know--is the piece recognizable enough?)
Chaos Japan -- Dance (not from a game iirc)
CSGS -- Misc
PC1 Anti Ares -- Arcade (Kirby.)

Breakcore doesn't look right as a category. Put a category like Drum n' Bass and then put all of the breakcore stuff in there? As far as all of the other splitting mentioned above, too much unnecessary splitting. Touhou remixes can go into arcade--and I totally agree that anything that sounds like jazz should be thrown into funk (this would be songs like Blue Rose, PxF, GOSW, etc.).

Just want to address two things:

- recognition or familiarity of tunes is solely being applied to the arcade section and isn't a factor in other sections such as classical - there aren't issues that needs to be addressed with this method for other song types

- sections such as dance are termed in the broadest sense to encompass several song genres; the number of songs for one specific genre does not warrant an entirely new section such as breakcore - that genre is much more specific and is henceforth not appropriate

Halogen: Touhou is quite a niche game and is far from wholly popular or recognizable, save for certain communities such as here. Not representative.

Yeah..... I didn't know what Touhou was beforehand.

I've never heard the originally bmv.578, and OSTER's remix is alot more dancey anyway.
