I concur with F.F. If your parents are stupid enough to argue at you for no reason, and not willing to see it your way, (the right way) I say pay them back in full. Also, when my laptop was taken from me, I took it back and my dad didn't notice, and if he did he certainly did not care.

The thing is i'm passive aggressive....extremely passive aggressive. I WILL get back at him, and he won' t know what hit him. I'm also pretty cunning...he takes away my comp, I find some way to sneak on. If he tells me to get off at 10, i take my laptop into bed, shut off all the lights, turn down the brightness, and if I hear anything, shut the laptop so its dark and it goes on standby so that when i open it up again I can still quickly connect to the internet and get right back on.

What I don't understand is why you had to take the quiz. Every teacher I've ever had would be like "oh, well you weren't here, so you'll have to make it up later" and make you stay after school one day or come in at lunch after learning what you missed. So now it's not just a case of your parents overreacting, it's a case of your teacher being a douche and making you take a quiz. Right?

That's true...but my parents don't think that way, so they're being douches by not understanding and taking away my laptop and cellphone for no reason. I'd be fine if they JUST took away the phone...but not my laptop.

if they don't want to listen to you, just act. take the laptop and then create a horrible virus to attack his poor, unsuspecting computer with. then laugh as you burn all of his earthly and loved possesions. your mom will just shut up after seeing how sickly evil you can be when you're taken for granted. i base this on personal experiences, but i'm not you so, go ahead and come up with a less shockingly terrible way to exact sweet revenge.

Soo... what were you grades? I know missing quizes sucks (expecially after being sick 3 days. Heck, I missed four quizes straight once.), but one quiz couldn't have possibly lowered your grade more then like 5% if you got a 0 on it unless that was like, the only assignment this semester/trimester.


And like some people have said, if you piss him off you may NEVER get your laptop back. Just do what he says and get better grades. If you have a 3.9-4.0 cummilative, they aren't going to punish you for school-related things. (I have ~3.96 and have never been grounded for school type things.) If your school goes above 4.0, change it accordingly. I don't know how those systems work though.

Ugh...well I guess it's not THAT big of a deal...I can use my dad's computer...when he's not on it. Also i'm probably not allowed on this past 10:30 or so, so that sucks. My dad gave me my phone for work today and said give it back when you come home. I wanted to call Alain, so I tried to call Nana and tell her to ask him if I could, but she never texted me back. Oh well...I still haven't given the phone back. Hopefully i'll like...be able to keep it. He said I could have it for school. I'm cunning and stuff...I set the ring really loud so if he takes it away i'll call it so that I could hear it from pretty far away.

Hah, I remember times my dad would take the power cable to my computer and tell me he wouldn't even put it back when he got home from work if I didn't do some work I'd procrastinated far too long over.

Hey, I'm a geek. You don't think I'll have AT LEAST one more power cable in the house somewhere? They're all the same voltage...

Though this was like 5 years ago when I was on dial-up. He almost found out because the line was busy when he tried to call a lot. "Oh, I was on the phone with such and such asking for help with some homework" >_>

That really sucks, school problems screwed me up so much that I stopped trying. I used to get punished for getting a c and now its like i get 45 dollars a week if i go to school and 50 if I do my chores... it seems that the more respectable you become the more pissed parents get if you slip up in the least bit
