I hate being freaking sick

K, I give up. I can't sleep, I keep coughing myself awake every hour on the hour. When I wake up my mouth is all dry and I'm steadily losing my voice. Anyone know something I can do besides gargle salt water for a sore throat?

Try running the shower really hot. Sit in there and breathe in the steam. It should help your cough.

short term solution: there isn't one

in the long run: SLEEP (which I'm not doing myself lol)

Time is the ultimate factor. You'll get over it eventually...and however useless my suggestion sounds, that's what I've learnt. Live it out for now.

EDIT:Sorry I sound like a whiny bitch, but I ****ing hate being sick. I can't go anywhere and my house gets boring as **** after a day. I'm especially pissed because it's the weekend and I could be out doing pretty much whatever the hell else I want to do.

Well, then God help you. Stuff like Scope or salt water only temporarily mediates the solution. If you really can't sleep, then as I said, just hold on - you can't make a sore throat go away just like that. Time can be your best friend or worst enemy.

Also, I did not really appreciate the way you've posted. Put it into my perspective: I was sick with a very bad cough for more than a month already, and you have the audacity to respond like that. Really unimpressed.
And yes, I did experience a sore throat during that bad trip as well. You know I very well would've tried to come up with the perfect solution like you are doing now - but I couldn't find anything else better to work other than sleep.

Like the other guy said, sleep.
When I get sick it's hard for me to sleep as well. I would just take a dose of NyQuil and I'd be out in a few minutes. That's my suggestion, NyQuil so you can get the sleep you need to get better.

But yeah...all you can do, all anyone can do when they are sick is to just suck it up and get through it.
AND of course no one LIKES being sick.

yea im pretty sure i caught what you have last week. still feeling extremely fuked up.

i drank about 6 liters of V8 splash in a day and im either getting over the stage of a sour throat, or that had something to do with it. i also ate those vit c 500 mg waffers, like 15 in a day. just keep drinking liquids and your throat should eventually calm down
