Quoted:

(1) It is NOT something illegal or disgusting.
(2) Yes there is something in the envelope.

Proves about half the posters in this thread wrong.

I'm coming into this late, but I already basically have it figured out.

So as an example if the high winning bid is $500.00 the high winning bidder will pay $500.00 and $5.00 postal insurance for a total of $505.00 US or if it is something like $4,663.00 it will be rounded down to the nearest hundred and the winning bidder will pay $46.00 US for postal insurance.

What does this mean? The larger the bid, the larger the shipping? Doesn't that generally mean the object is gaining value / size?

Possibilities in my mind are: Deed to his car / house, stock shares, Indentured Servitude, Rights to the company, etc. Others are, of course, a check for a small sum, pictures, and other useless stuff.

the 1 % isn't for shipping squeek, its for postal INSURANCE

insurance is always based on the worth of the item, so since its a mystery, it'l lbe a percentage of what people bid on it... whether or not he says its illegal, i'm still fairly confident its illegal paraphenalia

Holy grail! Great for purifyting water and bread(If you can stuff the bread into it)!One of Jebus's most prize posessions! now only $4.99 US!

...

Nobody in their right mind would sell a holy grail, much less FOR 5 BLOODY DOLLARS.
It would be offensive to God if you sell a holy posession for 5 dollars*.

"Everyone, this 'holy grail' has caused such amazement for me... it has changed my life, doing what I though never possible. Ordinary water and bread became amazing to me because of it. So, in light of that, I think I'll sell it to you for 5 dollars!"

To me, it seems scammers are becoming dumber and more original at the same time. Somehow, that seems to balance out. For the most part, however, you have to be the first with a new scamming idea, it seems. It's convincing only the first time for most, I guess... =/

I might buy it not because it is a holy grail but because it's a painted wine bottle, which I could use some more of.

Golden_palace_casino bids on things like that because it's not allowed to advertise by conventional means.

Did anyone find out what was in the envelope?

My guess are stocks, or some sort of bond.

Yea i still want to know what is in the envelope. Kepp telling every one i know about it and got all my housemates (there are 8 of us) hooked on it. Hehe, even after the auction is over. Really really want to know. I don't think golden_casino is going to say though. Especially if they are actually a casino, or not for a while anyway. Maybe they will post something saying of you want to see what was in it, go to the casino and check it out. That would suck. Then one of us would have to go and tell everyone else what it was
