Seriously...can you not tell that this song is clipping like a mofo? Its clipping from beginning to end. Everything is just too loud. Turn it down.

Yea, if you compress everything and turn the volume down on some synths, this would be awesome.

No. Now everything is limited so hard that it is distorting. Raise the threshhold on the compressor a bunch. Can't you hear it? Even with $2 crap earbud headphones this is extremely obvious.

I got $20 Sony monitors, they're great. MDR-V300 to be exact, I strongly recommend getting them.

Its not a good idea to use headphones for full mix monitoring. Mabye just for individual parts and for small details, but headphones dont accurately display the sonic characteristics of a song. A cheap flat loudspeaker monitor solution I think would be choice.

Headphones (good, flat ones) are just fine for monitoring, except for bass stuff.

No, you will never get a stereo sound from headphones, and they have no place in finalizing a track.. Both ears only give a mono input to your ear, so you never hear how the song actually mixes in stereo.

The link provided by aerogroove explains all this wonderfully, too.

I've tried playing around with stereo seperation on headphones before, and I can clearly hear the difference. Modern Headphones can produce a stereo sound, I have no idea how it all works, but it certainly does.

I've got Sony Dynamic Stereo Headphones (MDR-CD777), and I use those for my sound normally, but I also have 5-channel Dell Altec Lansing THX Stereo/Surround Sound speakers.

*EDIT*: SGX, the Threshold on the compressor is already at max.

*EDIT2*: All of a sudden my FL has been popping up with errors monotaniously when it's minimized saying "DIB cannot be made." Anyone know what this means?

*EDIT3*: Trying again...new version uploading as I'm typing.

... umm if the threshold is all the way up (0db), then there should be no compression, especially with that extreme limiting wall you have. Whatever..just lay off the compressor a bunch. The amount you are squashing the mix sounds real bad.
