Synthlight needs help

I recently was looking through the forums and saw a message that synthlight recieves $5-$10 a month in donations. I think that the ffr community has more to offer than that. Give me your thoughts and suggestions on what we can do to help get some money.

I've never gotten the donations page to show up. I wanted to buy some of those cds with songs like Uber Rave, but now I can't find where those are for sale anymore. If someone can tell me where I can buy cds from this site, then I'd probably buy some.

I think that the merch is a good Idea, maybe we can find a domain that will allow someone to make shirts, hoodies, etc. I will look around for such a place, with best prices that I can find.

I'd buy a FGJ! CD fo' sho'. I would contact SpookGoblin on the matter, but then I'm afraid that none of the money would go to Synthlight.

I bought the downloadable $3 FFR a few months ago b4 R2 came out. I hope that helped a little bit.

Personally I don't think the donation page is emphasized enough. I've seen donations before, and just posting a link to a donations page will do nothing. It has to be advertised within the site somehow or else it's never going to have use.

As well as having the downloadable version I suggest having something on the site. Perhaps a special icon beside your forum name (if possible). Possibly an extra song in the game that's only attainable through donations? These little things, believe it or not will help a lot. I guarentee it.

Wow, thats a good Idea freak, donation songs and etc. Maybe synth can post a little donations thing in each post on the front page so that he can get some money that way. I do know however, that alot of us, even me sadly, dont have extra money sitting around. If only there was a PO Box number or something that he could use to let us help fund him. I do have some money though. I would like to see some of the new features that he has in store, up and running soon.

while I like freak83's idea, that is kind of going against what Synth believes in VERY strongly, that FFR should remain 100% free. If a certain song costs money to obtain, that's not 100% free. If he was really looking to make money/cover costs, he could easily have pop-up ads, make us pay to play/join, or have song packs costing 10-20 $'s, but he dedicated to keeping everything 100% free. Although maybe something next to your name would help, and wouldn't go against the 100% free idea...Good ideas guys.

Anyway, I'm a minor, so I have no means of getting money to Synth. Also, my parents are cheap and we're having money troubles since my sister had a huge wedding and now my mom is out of work for a while.

Expect a crapload of money from me once I'm old enough, though.

Im trying to base it on still bieng free and bieng able to donate, but you can buy merch. I didnt say anything about buying songs with moolah. Afro, nice shirt. I am a minor too, but when Im able to, holy crap, synth is going to get a TOOON of money from me to keep this up.

Yes! Paypal! Plus you could sell stuff on eBay! Seriously, I've searched for SuperGreenX, FGJ!, and Banya on eBay and have turned up nothing! eBay would host the store for free too! I think we should really consider eBay. And Paypal.

Those would be some good options, especially paypal. I wonder why I didnt think of it....... *hit himself*. Ebay may cause some controversy, but I havent been there much. I really hope synth gets some of the PM's ive sent him. I see him in the chat alot, but he doesnt talk much.
