ofuc guyz i iz judj. What's more I have reviews. D=
---------- 18.8.2009 -ToKiMoNaTaKaNiMeKaT- APPROVED #Normally I'm not fond of Tell jumps, but what you've done with them is something I find quite intersting: you've made them an important intergral element of accenting in the chart. Your use of them actually fits every time. #The places where you accent the melody in the "choruses" I find quite odd to be honest. What's even stranger is that I like this decision you've made, hands be damned. #I would have liked the slowdown to at least be signaled with mines or something. I didn't see it coming. =( #Measure 46: Bit of a tricky bracket this one I'd say, even if its use as an accent seems appropriate. If it were up to me I would have just done a d.r. jump. #Measure 74: I think instead of a step and jump at the end it should have been a triplet. This chart has many decisions in terms of design that I'd call controversial. I personally think it's quite an interesting (and good quality) piece, if not something I'd usually find myself playing. I think quite a spectrum of opinions will form from this, but I can't be sure. -Colors of Sorrow- REVISE #Somewhat fond of Tells I see, but arguably acceptable at this speed. #Measures 2-8: There's a handful of notes that seem to be going to nothing, and I can count at least one time where you missed the piano. Revise this. #Measures 27-34: imo this should not have been an 8th run. Sure its mapped out fine, but it doesn't seem to go with the song. I'd suggest either stepping solely the piano or the lyrics here (preferably the latter), and possibly the bass drum. It's hard to hear though, so perhaps mines could be used. #Measure 41: Overstepped imo. I'd rather you just followed the lyrics as opposed to keeping up the 8th running. #I personally don't like your use of 64th minifreezes. Apologies, but I simply don't like them. If they were 32nds long though, I wouldn't mind. Overall, I didn't like how often you seemed to step to nothing, and it was a teeny bit repetitive. It's up to you if you want to put gimmicks in, I won't mind either way. Apart from what I mentioned, I'd say this is good to go. -Flowers- REVISE #Didn't really like your use of Tell jumps throughout. I don't feel there's anything in the song that really sounds like a hard enough accent to justify them. #If you're going to follow the bass drum, I'd rather you follow it consistently or don't follow it at all. #I honestly prefer your Hard steps over your Challenge steps. =/ The challenge chart honestly isn't that awful, but to me it doesn't feel up to scratch at the moment. -Mystical Oriental Love Consultant- REVISE #Sync drifts somewhat, but I think that's common knowledge by now. Try and fix it up a little more if you can though. #There's inconsistencies in the following of the snares. Up until measure 26 you're quite happy to step where it deviates out of 4/4 time, which I liked. Onwards though, deviations are usually missed completely. You use mines to fill them in sometimes I see, but I'm seeing missed areas. #Good job following the melody, brah. I failed to find any real mistakes here. #Mine placement is a little evil in the second half. I think mileage will vary over these. #lol bracket at the end Can't think of much more to say on this to be honest. Just that it could be a little better. soz -Daite Senorita- APPROVED #Sync is off. I had to hit F12 on the editor. =( Then again that's something so easy to fix its almost funny. #Measure 45: I feel strongly about putting a freeze on the last note. Do eet #Measure 64: Not sure why the freeze here is an 8th shorter than in the last chorus. =/ #Measure 66-67: Hurhur. I'm sure the "hands" will throw some off. #Last note could have been a jump really. #I actually think the double stepping is a nice touch. Screw you guys. >=((((((( My issues with this are very minor, aside from the sync. I quite liked this, and it should make for a good warm-up file I reckon. I don't think the issues were enough for the to get rejected by the other judges (they'd be so easy to touch up it's almost funny) but I suppose I can't change their minds. -Far East Speedcore- APPROVED #Overall it felt a little overstepped, especially in measures like no. 3 where the music hasn't quite picked up yet. #Some of the gimmicks threw me off, mainly the small slowdowns. I don't see anything inherently wrong with this. The gimmicks will require a little learning time, and the patterns are actually quite considerate to the player's feet in terms of spacing, despite the rating. I probably would have disliked this if the patterns were candlestick spammed. -Monty Mole on the Run- APPROVED I <3 this. I do think the mines are overdone somewhat, and the sudden scroll downs are definitely going to annoy players, I'm sure. Otherwise I have pretty much no complaints about this file at all. AND THEN I LOOKED AT IT AGAIN After I stopped mindlessly drooling over this file (which I still much like, mind), I realised that the length of some of the freezes were actually mixing me up. Measures 1(!), 9 and 78 are the culprits here. For the first two, I'd have held down right instead of left to avoid confusion, and for the last I would have cut the length so that it ends alongside the last red arrow of that measure; it'd help me establish that the left and down arrow need to be alternated rather than double stepped. I dunno, maybe I'm just trying to make things less awkward for myself trying to read this on x3 like I usually would at files of this BPM. Oh, and I don't consider this an 11. ---------- So yeah this is liek the first time I've judged ever. I won't be surprised if any of you have issues with my opinions, so fellow judges feel free to debate with me. BUT SERIOUSLY CUT ME SOME SLACK GUYS GAWD AAARGHHH [/lol]
