Fido, we are only talking about ffr while on vista. Not how vista performs as a whole. I have an xp computer and a vista computer with similarly good specs and they run great for everything at high graphics, but for some reason my vista computer can't seem to not skip when playing ffr. This clearly has nothing to do with performance. There must be something that vista is doing with some peoples specific hardware to cause flash to not run smoothly when it is something like ffr.

I was benchmarking FFR...it came out the same with no little bumps at all and just cause I can't AAA a FGO song doesn't mean I can't tell the difference. I play a lot of rhythm games. Maybe it's because you have an Intel Graphics Chip? Those will do that especially on Vista.

lol using vista as an excuse
on the first FFR song I played on my (then) new laptop with vista, I got a clean FC on thrash with 167 goods, and my laptop is more than capable of handling the OS...so yeah |

I already do play ffr on my xp. Just saying that is because it doesn't work on my vista. Someday I'll make a video of me AAAing some song on my xp and then getting a total crap score on vista even though the keytaps will be exactly the same.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic. In case you were be, I'm going to ask you to read every post I posted in this thread until you understand. And again, graphics chips won't cut it unless you have a really good CPU, no idea why FFR needs this but yeah, that's my experience. Last edited by fido123; 08-3-2009 at 07:40 PM.. |

Ever given the thought that some Vista computers lag...not all? I can believe some of them lagging, but there is the possibility of coincidence that it has Vista...possibly. I'm not that smart in computers. I just know that my Vista has zero lag with FFR. Don't blame my skill, either. I'm not a very good player, but that doesn't have TOO much to do with it to make a difference. I've already AAA'd a level 8 (by luck) and BF'd some 7's. I used to have XP and I did no different. I tapped the arrows at the same time on both and got the same results.
So not ALL Vista computers are laggy. Some, yes, just not all like most people act. If people want to say all Vista computers are laggy I want to see them record yourself playing FFR on very single Vista computer that exists. I know it isn't humanly possible...just saying. Until then, people need to stop assuming that all Vista computers suck. |

Then how come it works fine when I put XP on it. Are you completely denying that there is no issue with vista and ffr? |

The problem is the operating system. There are many facets of Vista that can slow up graphic performance especially with flash.
Today I went from having enormous lag spikes to none just by adjusting some of my personal settings. It's different from computer to computer, so making a general statement that something is or isn't the problem is really stupid when it could be a very wide range of problems causing the OS to lag when it shouldn't. edit: there is a lot of useless crap that is built in to vista that isn't in XP which makes XP smoother to run by default. You can remove gigabytes of information from the Vista install file and still have more than you need. All the features are nice and all, but when the high processing power pulling apps are running when you don't want them to it will always result in lag.

Holy crap do I have to say this again. Vista is not bad if you have the computer to run it. Integrated Graphics chips don't cut it for anything but word processing and web browsing. There is no problem with Vista. XP is faster but ME is faster to XP, and 98 is faster to ME. Before telling me Vista sucks tell me what part of this statement you disagree with. As I said I ****ing bench marked this **** on a Vista capable computer and the FPS came out the same.

The brand-new computer can run Vista fine. Vista just has problems running the flash smoothly for me. And it makes it super choppy most the time.

I got both my first and second FMO AAA's and all up to 500+ AAA's and scores with Vista. Works fine for me. You just have to play on it for awhile to adjust to it.

Yea, I'm sure my computers 2.6 ghz quad core and 9800 gtx graphics card and 4 gigs of ram is just not enough for ffr. Vista doesn't suck. It runs smooth and quick. It just does not run well for ffr. edit: On my pc. I understand some peoples hardware somehow works for ffr and thats great. It just does not for mine. Last edited by Izzy; 08-3-2009 at 10:37 PM.. |
