Who to shoot?

There are 3 people in a room: You, one of your longest known friends, and a criminal. The room is locked from the outside and there is a bomb on the inside of the room set to blow up in 24 hours. The door is made of iron and the walls are made of 6inch thick concrete, and the floor is layered in steel. You're given a gun with 2 bullets in the chamber and directed to shoot 2 people in the room. If you choose not to shoot anyone in 24 hours the bomb will explode and everyone will die. Which of the 3 people in the room being you, the criminal, and your friend do you shoot?

The person who you don't shoot is let free.

Shoot the door twice in an effort to unlock it, if it is locked. If it works, we save three lives (it never says what the criminal was convicted of; could have been shoplifting...) If it doesn't work, we die in the explosion anyway.

Wait til the bomb has 5 seconds left and shoot your friend then wait til 1 to shoot yourself. Criminal should suffer the explosion. And if by some miracle he lives it will teach him to not do whatever he did again.

And for the record, the way this goes down is as follows:

The criminal realises you two are friends, figures their chances are decidedly not good

The criminal tries to get the gun off you to kill the two of you, you waste your bullets kiling or trying to kill the criminal

Either you kill him, in which case you and your friend die in the explosion for failing to kill 2 people, or you don't kill him, in which case you're out of bullets anyway and all die in the explosion for failing to kill two people.

The end.
