So I tried Apophysis
It took me a while to learn. I'm glad it doesn't require payment for a good quality rendering, since Ultra Fractal does.
Electric Portal (couldn't think of a better name to describe it) Tunnel Vertex (I have no idea why I chose this name) Sand Star (It's intentionally grainy)

Re: So I tried Apophysis
I don't get how you get such geometric, symmetrical stuff. Linear mutations over and over again? I really like the first one.
A handful of my stuff is on My Caedes Page. |

Re: So I tried Apophysis
Using a few linear constructs on the Editor, it's possible to get many kinds of symmetry. For example, to get a simple bilateral symmetry, create a new construct and flip it horizontally, making it a mirror of the static original construct (I think this menu is only available in the editors of Apo 2.05 and 2.08, 2.02 doesn't have it. I use 2.08).
Other than that, go to Options, Random, choose a symmetry pattern in the Forced Symmetry menu, and create a new random batch. Then, just go to the editor and look at the constructs with a linear variation of 1, near the center. You can learn how to do symmetry with that. EDIT: in case you're curious, to create this perspective I used in Tunnel, just create a linear construct, and then another one, a bit smaller, in the same place.

Re: So I tried Apophysis
First one is nifty but none of these have perfect symmetry (when including colors), if you even wanted to go for that. What you call construct is called variation in editor, might confuse someone if anyone even cares Keep going at it.
Also I could create a very basic Apophysis tutorial sometime, basically showing how I make things, if there is any interest for such that is. Last edited by sp1nzoK; 07-7-2009 at 10:06 PM.. |

Re: So I tried Apophysis
I didn't want colors to be 100% symmetric.

Other ones:
A simple one: I know this one is ugly, but I liked how it looked like a person:

Re: So I tried Apophysis
Thanks, my favorite is also Sand Star. I was pretty impressed when I finished it.
I also thought it was interesting. It was one of the first I made, I used lots of transformations, so, unfortunately, I don't know how to do it again.

Starlight City was quite simple to make, but I loved it.
lol I can't believe I wrote that.

Re: So I tried Apophysis
Yeah, it's difficult. There's a lot of possibilities, but it's really hard to get something interesting in the beginning. You can search for tutorials in the internet or open the built in fractals (not in the random batch) and try to play with them.
