1nce you do that switch to spread i think index makes u a lot better at jackhammers
i play song on 1.2 rate on Index an AA them so just try that
it will improve wrist flicking *_^

ive tried something similar to that as well but i find it easier to spread your keys a little bit more than just that on american keyborad i'm training with as and kl
to me its alot easier when there more spread out than real close together.

I play using NM and 86 and for some reason it made my accuracy like 300% better. Before i switched i could only AAA 4's and now im AAA'ing like CIA Rave and stuff.

Have you been having trouble with any fast stream songs? If so, it could be that your hands aren't exactly the same position with each other. See if you can get any results using NM and 89, NM and 56 or NM and 23.

If not, I guess you can stay with what you are good at and get better?

pretty much how i got better is i started with spread at 300cc on SM with the arrows going up, then i kept moving my speed mod up with my ability to read the notes then i played harder songs. and now im at a comfortable speed 725CC on SM 2.0x on FFR
i play with the keys SDL; it's a nice little set up
beginners just need practice and lots of experimenting

Maybe he created his siggy when av-misses were still present and never bothered to change it?

Back to the topic, I suggest changing your key config once in a while, it seems to make erase the occasional mental block, as well as finding a more comfortable layout.

well i prefer playin spread , playing index style is not that good at all, there is a limit for index players, with spread there is at least none xD, i play in that way:
left hand :
"index and middle finger -> index - down arrow | middle finger - left arrow"
right hand:
"ring and middle finger -> ring - 3 on numpad (as right) | middle finger - 5 on numpad (as up)"

and i play ddr since 6 months i'm already, first i played index , it's easier to learn playing index , but u'll see very soon that there is a kinda "limit", playin spread is more difficult cuz u have to coordinate 2 hands for 4 arrows with 4 fingers, but you are faster and the chance in getting only perfects and all that stuf raise with that ^_^

No offense, but I think that the way you describe is very difficult and hard to coordinate. I play with three fingers(my index finger on my right hand and my index and middle finger on my left hand). It is much easier to control(at lest for me it is).

download stepmania then download some ddr packs and AAA them on hard mode using x mods only and that will get you full comboing upto lvl 9

the keys i use are N,M and numberpad 8 ,numberpad 6
