Every thread you say, "cool guys, move on". Just don't post. You are highly disrespectful and then call me a dick when I say I hope you die and I hope no one cares? Sorry, you're just a misinformed kid on the internet. If you died, I hope everyone here gives you no respect as we do not know you and we do not have a personal connection with.

So I'm sorry, but you are the dick here.
I don't know why you think I'm trolling unless you are actually upset over my posts. If you really want to bad mouth me when I die go ahead. The sad thing is, if anyone on this forum died we probably wouldn't even know. I just personally don't like the fact that people that are even a tiny bit famous because they had better luck or opportunities in life they are somehow more praiseworthy then any other person in the world.

I'm willing to bet that someone at least a little bit famous dies every week. There are so many people who have been in movies or played on professional sports teams or whatever. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to those individuals. The idea as a whole that you guys suddenly care so much about a few famous people dieing, but don't care at all about the thousands of other people that die every day is annoying. There is nothing special about a football player, why should he get just as much attention as a tsunami that killed 20,000+ people in another country. So all those people are just statistics, yet this one person is actually a person.

You guys no nothing about respect so please stop telling me I'm the disrespectful one.

You don't have to respect a person, or their death, but at least respect the fact that other people feel differently.

If you're annoyed by this sort of thing, walk away.... This is the internet after all...

That would take those people to respect my different opinion and to not tell my I'm wrong for not agreeing with them.
I don't disrespect or respect this person. I have never heard of him.

And it's just that semi-internet annoyed kind of thing. I have nothing else to do at the moment so I'm browsing forums and posting. Don't really care about your opinions irl.

So Izzy doesnt care about a famous person that dies, big deal. Why is it such a huge issue that he doesnt care. I mean I honestly dont care that much for a famous person that dies since they are not personally attached to me. Sure it sucks see'ing them die, but it is just how it goes. Not saying everyone should not care for if someone dies, some people feel that way, and others are effected since the famous person inspired them in some way. But sitting here b****'in at each other about how one reacts to death and says their reaction in a thread is kinda dumb.

^This.

Why do so many people get pissed off when he posts? Not just mildly annoyed, but to such a point where someone feels they have to say "I hope Izzy dies next"? He's not trolling, he's stating his opinion. Isn't that supposed to be encouraged in forums? Why would you discourage someone from posting just because his opinion is different from that of the original poster?

Saying he doesn't care that someone famous died doesn't seem very disrespectful to me, especially since I'm sure the person in question probably doesn't care if he cares either. In fact, they wouldn't even know who he was. If I died and somehow got the news that so-and-so doesn't give a **** about me, I wouldn't feel particularly offended. =\ Now, if it were someone that I knew personally, that would be a different story.

Just in case, please don't read this post as being angrily written or a poor attempt at trolling. =(

Izzy's posting, for the sake of posting, in a thread intended to inform and "mourn", for lack of better words, the death of a person whom he'd never heard of, an opinion that clearly conflicts with the purpose of the thread and the members in it. (An opinion he is entitled to nonetheless, but is rather inappropriate to express in this and other threads like this.)

That's how I see it. But it's whatever, not like he cares anyway.

Izzy clearly doesn't understand the concept of personal connection and mourning.

Not everyone connected to us has to be immediate family for us to care about their deaths. Saying "they're no different from anyone else" is missing the point. If your mother dies, it would be very rude of us to say "Who cares, Izzy, people die every day. Stop being a pussy."

Your comments are very ignorant and disrespectful. Take your idiocy and closemindedness elsewhere. If you don't care about other human beings then don't come in here and discredit the feelings of others. You do it in every damn death thread and it's totally inappropriate.

You know, some people get to where they are without a whole lot of luck and opportunity. Ever heard of hard work, drive, and intelligence?

I really doubt he'd think it was really disrespectful if you did say that because he realizes people die every day and wouldn't expect you to care if his mother died. Of course, he probably wouldn't be posting about something like that on the internet to begin with.

First post asked for thoughts on the subject. He gave his thoughts. If what you wanted was a thread entirely devoted to praising McNair's life and mourning his death, don't ask for other people's thoughts on the matter as each person will feel differently on the subject.

There are many events that occur every day that are indeed tragic, but it doesn't mean it's appropriate to discredit their significance for that purpose alone.

If you want to look at things in a pure sense, we know OF famous people BECAUSE they are famous. And out of the people we know, we connect with a subset of that group for various reasons. This is why, say, we don't mourn random Aunt Shirley off in Randomfsck, Idaho. We don't know her, and we haven't formed any connection.

Even if all the OP did was ask about thoughts, it's a dick move regardless to say "People die every day. Glad you guys are noticing now," or whatever. Given the context of his message, it was clearly a rude comment meant to make light of the fact that people were mourning someone that Izzy didn't care about and merely considered "part of the commonplace deaths that occur all the time anyway."

So yeah, it's inappropriate.

no i believe it is the truth. how are celebrities lives anymore important then yours or mine. im not saying deny them from being noticed when they die, but its not our problem. its a family matter and by the next day all us "normal" people who didnt know them personally wont give a **** anymore. we are just that way as people.
