I don't think he's really dead.

1, he was at a friends house before he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and you know how easy it would be to just take him somewhere else, hop on a plane, and go somewhere and have another ambulance switch?

2, there was a fire alarm pulled at the hospital where he was when he 'died.'

I don't know, just sounds a little suspicious to me.
