BMS Simulators?
Being a FFR/Stepmania player, naturally I've heard of other rhythm games through the forums here. Recently, a music game simulator that has grabbed my interest is the BMS simulator. However, I have no idea where to find it, and the links I find are usually in Japanese. Could someone please walk me through on how to install it, how to add songs, etc.?

Re: BMS Simulators?
Leonid made a thread a couple days ago for BMS simulators, which includes a couple helpful links. You might want to check that out, in particular, the bemanistyle link.

Bepachi Music is a good one, as long as you have the needed .bms/.ksf files to actually play (the charts! xD).

Re: BMS Simulators?
Ok, but I'm still so unaccustomed to this game that I have no idea how to add songs or even how to play correctly. What's the accepted key layout? And where should I place my fingers?

Re: BMS Simulators?
Most bms players set effector line (the line with the disc at the bottom) on the left.
You can change this setting in most bms simulators. There are two most popular key layouts. One is IIDX-Style, where you place seven keys according to actual key placements of Beatmania IIDX. This mapping is good for playing with one hand. For example: ..EF.....1.2.3.4.5.6.7 ............S...D.....F Shift...Z...X....C....V Another is Spread, where you place keys so that each key maps to only one finger. This mapping is good for playing very difficult bmses. For example: ..EF....1.2.3....4....5.6.7 Shift..A.S.D.Space.J.K.L |

Re: BMS Simulators?
Bepachi Music sucks. (In my opinion)
Try playing Synth'N instead. (NMS/BMS songs both recognized, as well as DJMAX files.) |
