PC Gaming
I need some PC gaming suggestions.
For the most part I'm looking for RPGs, but if you can sell me on other types then go for it. I just recently got a video card that can handle most everything at least on medium, so I've been trying to catch up. Just finished Prototype and started on Bioshock, I have Oblivion and NWN 2. Throw em at me. (dont tell me to go to your uber kawaii ro server :s ) |

Re: PC Gaming
If you like Oblivion you should give Fallout 3 a shot, can't go wrong there. Probably my favorite RPG on the PC.
Bioshock was an excellent choice, by the way. |

Re: PC Gaming
If you played Oblivion a lot but you still want to play, go on the website TesNexus. They have a lot of nice add-ons and mods to give a new life to this great game.
You could try Race Driver GRID too. Ok, I know it's not a RPG, but man, this game is awesome. The car crashes are just so realistic, the feeling of speed is there and the visual graphics are just stunning. Even if you don't like racing game, you could give it a try. And if you have a racing wheel, it's even better. Like Smok3y said, if you liked Oblivion, get Fallout 3. It's a really nice FPSRPG and it's basically the same thing than Oblivion. |

Re: PC Gaming
Don't know what you haven't played, so here goes:
Rise of Nations (Game of the Year for 2004. It's really good, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like RTS games. Sequel (Rise of Legends) is meh.) Call of Duty 4 (you know why) Unreal Tournament 2004 (best multiplayer game ever made.) The Orange Box (Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half Life 2 + ep1 + ep2. All for ~$15. What more reason do you need?) Left 4 Dead (Wait for a sale, since the gameplay can run out pretty quickly if you're only playing Single Player. $20 is reasonable.) Consider: Fable: The Lost Chapters (I loved the original Xbox version and loved the "finished" game from the PC version even more. Grindy, but fun fun fun.) GTAIV (I didn't like it, but you might.) Don't get Mirror's Edge (unless you enjoy failing repeatedly for broken gameplay issues) Mass Effect (unless you like running around for hours trying to figure out where to go) Assassin's Creed (unless you like repetitive gameplay that gets old after an hour) |

Re: PC Gaming
I like Assassin's Creed, but Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge are definitely a no.
Left 4 Dead is a definite buy, I think that it's worth the 50 bucks that it's on for now to be honest. Unreal Tournament 2004 and UT3 (2004 is better IMO, but they're both good.) Dead Space is good. System Shock 2 Painkiller is fun but kinda dumb, it's for laughs.

Re: PC Gaming
Oh I re-read the OP and you said RPGs.
Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, especially if you can get some friends to play locally. Old games, but they know how to do hack and slash gameplay right. As for the next in the series--Space Siege--it's a joke and nobody should ever play it. Runs all over the greatness of the first two games. Fable, as I mentioned before. Psychonauts. Kinda RPG, kinda platformer, all awesome. One of the best games ever made. If you enjoy Oblivion, consider Morrowind. Everyone tells me it's the best of the Elder Scrolls games even though it's ancient at this point. Diablo II, probably. Never really got into it due to its age. Warcraft III. Without a doubt, especially since you already play WoW. It reveals so much of the backstory of the game, and it's really fun too. You might like Knights of the Old Republic. I didn't. It's heavily based on D&D and the combat is a wash, but if you're a Star Wars fan you will probably enjoy it. If my friend were here, he would recommend Deus Ex. I never got into it, but he loves it. |

Re: PC Gaming
Warcraft III definitely has great mileage. The campaign missions themselves can take a long time to beat and even once you've played them all, you can go on Battle.net and play with other people online. There's still a strong community of people playing regular matches if you're into that type of thing. The custom game community is even stronger. Even after all these years, I still see new maps being made, some of which pick up in popularity. However, none of these compare with DotA, which arguably, is better than Warcraft III itself. It sure is in my opinion. =X

Re: PC Gaming
Oh, I forgot I have Morrowind, Fable, Fallout 3, and Mass Effect.
Is Mass Effect really that bad? Never heard of Psychonauts, and never tried dungeon siege 1 and 2. Have any of you played the recent Might and Magic? Screens make it look like an Oblivion knock off, but I know that's a pretty good series. I haven't been able to get KOTOR to work. I'll probably pick up Left 4 Dead when I see it on sale. |

Re: PC Gaming
Baldur's Gate I and II and any/all of the expansions are, IMO, the best PC RPGs ever made.
