Question Making the switch

After 9 months off of FFR, I come back to see that the tier ranks are changed and MUCH more difficult. I've been playing for ~a week and managed to get 22 tier points (including an SDG on Air and 4-0-0-0 on Legeng), but I can't help but feel that getting 270 points will be nearly impossible with my current 3-finger play style. Should I make the switch to 4-finger? And if so, how difficult is this transition?

Any help would be appreciated (and if I posted this in the wrong spot, sorry mods :/)

For most people they do better with 4 fingers but there are some who are just as good or better with only 3. Try doing easier songs on to see if you can do as well on easier songs 4 fingered as you can on more challenging songs when doing 3 fingers.

If you want to get better at the more difficult songs, it's near impossible to do without switching to spread. There are a few people who pride themselves in not switching to spread and have actually managed to do quite well otherwise, but you have a better chance of improving if you make the switch. If/When you do decide to switch, start off on the easiest songs, not ones you're used to with your current style. You gotta work your way up.

IMHO I'd play both spread -and- one-handed. They're both fun and different ways to play.
