Do speed mods affect MA?
I've recently switched from C675 to C700 on SM3.9 and my MA has gone down the drain ;_;
I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the specific speed mod? Because, although my keytaps sound on beat, a majority of the songs spit out random perfects and greats >_>' Has anyone had this problem other than me? Perhaps this is all in my head and I simply need time to adjust ?_? |

Re: Do speed mods affect MA?
Give yourself time to adjust. I've had a problem siiimilar to it, but not quite the same. My MA goes up a little bit but my comboing abilities gets trashed.
A good tip I've learned is to only increase your Cmod by 5. so rather than jumping from 675 to 700, go up to 680. You more than likely wont notice a difference but that's the trick ;D you can just keep going up and feel pretty comfortable at the new speed. but in a nutshell, changing speed mods affect your ability to MA rather than actually changing MA. It doesnt change the timing window or anything |

Re: Do speed mods affect MA?
faster speeds allow more MA for some because of more precision, but also makes it harder to read and increases the number of misses

Re: Do speed mods affect MA?
Certain games resize the timing window with different speed mods. SM isn't one of them.
Also realize your keyboard more likely than not has a delay to it that may not match the offset of the song in which tapping perfectly to the beat will guarantee MA. Play around with the F11 and F12 keys before the notes start falling when playing a song.

Re: Do speed mods affect MA?
Yeah my keytaps are on beat but i still get perfects/greats so AAAA is impossible ;_;
Use your own cmod that's comfortable for you though, reading faster cmods can help with more precision (like my 4x mod for JHM AAA) but usually result in many more misses |

Re: Do speed mods affect MA?
if your aiming for better MA increase your Cmod by a little each time you play.

Icyworld gives good advice. As you get comfortable with a speed mod, continually adjust yourself upward so that you can maximize precision while still reading at a comfortable speed.
