Well then, this thread has continued to go downhill, and fast.

I have no idea whether or not to take this guy seriously, but either way, the initial comment made by tired_old_man was disturbing and highly inappropriate in any context, since it was the farthest thing from funny.

Well actually it also depends on your teacher; some are just awesome and take the time to go over some concepts you don't understand and go at a constant rate, while some just give you random assignments and inform that there's a test very soon even though you don't exactly understand what's going on and sometimes rush.

It's weird... I liked high school a lot, and now I'm in college and I think the classes totally suck. I definitely didn't go to a super-elite high school or anything like that, but it was a private school which had a reputation for getting really good teachers, so maybe it was that that I enjoyed. A lot of the teachers I have here are about as interesting as reading the textbook, and a lot slower...

Was foilman8805 always like this? I never remembered him as being so annoying.

Also, I saw this somewhere else and didn't really think much of it. He is a genius, and when he said he was not, it made him sound arrogant, or at least to me. Hopefully, he continues his education to get his masters and doctorate. He should go to a bigger school. :/

Edit: Oh, and Reach's posts are fun to read. It's like he actually thinks before typing.

You're going to find people like that, but I probably could've graduated high school at the age of 16 if I really wanted to. I know a kid who has had the highest GPA in my school for the past like 9 years, yet he's dropping out next year.

But graduating college at the age of 11. That's crazy. I only wonder what he's going to be like when he's 20.

When I was in primary school I had the option of skipping to the next year from 4 to 5, I decided not to because I wanted to stay with my friends and everyone in 5 was a douche.

Also skipping years is losing life experience, and being smart is no accomplishment (yeah that's right), millions of people who have an average intellect have a good-excellent life.

Take my Cousins' Stepdad, for example. He's never worked a day in his life but he's a mid-30-ish millionare, sitting on his ass all day.

All I can really say to that kid is congratulations on his feat. I wish his parents weren't so arrogant, saying that his child is just an average person when it's completely obvious that he's much more talented than a "normal" person. =/

This, but for me it was kindergarten to first or second grade. My mom didn't think it was a good idea, but I'm glad. I didn't like the people in the grades above me.

We all have accomplishments that are abnormal to the average person.

Think of what this kid is missing.. Think of the fun you all had in middle AND high school.. that's something he will never (no matter how smart he is) will understand

p.s. Those recess days where kissing was gross, being a/or bully/bullied.. liking that one cute girl next to you, dealing with stupid gossip and girl drama etc etc.. the good ol' days ;]

Well after I left Primary School (I never went to Kindergarten/Nursery or whatever you call it in america, I just went to year 1) Which is after you finish 6 whole years of Primary School, you go to secondary. I had trouble finding one, schools in South London are all ****ty and/or really far away and/or full of Racists/Bullies/Hypocritical Bastards. Noone would want it, I guarantee.

I was extremely likeable in primary, the entire school respected me and knew me, but the first 3 years I was just on my own walking in "recess" (they call it Playtime/Lunchtime (15 minutes / 30 minutes) in England), with no friends.

So after I first joined my Secondary School at the beginning of 2006 I think it was, I didn't make any friends the first day and I was struggling to keep up with finding the classes, after a while I found ONE kid who was also like me, didn't really have any friends, came here on his own with no people from Primary School, was smart, just fitted in with me, really. Then eventually this other kid, I can't remember his name, Andrew I'll say for now. He was my friend, until a week after he stopped talking to me and I was like wtf? Also things that would piss me off like people stealing my pens and sticking chewing gum to my backpack. Why the **** would anyone want a Ballpoint pen with my name on it? That really pissed me off, that was an expensive pen. You can't bring **** into schools these days without some prick stealing it to try and make his life more content because he gets beaten by his parents.

There was this one guy I can't remember his name, he had a massive head, that's all I can remember really, well he kept saying stupid **** to me that made no sense, like I was in the lunch room eating my food and he just walked up to me with his 2 goons like the 3 stooges and said "YOUR MUM IS SO FAT, THE WALLS ARE JEALOUS OF HER" I facepalmed for two reasons, one, because he didn't get the joke right and 2, because his friends were laughing.

I was standing outside the classroom waiting for the teacher and that same kid was standing there, he had his back turned to me and he was talking to his friends, I had a rage build up inside of me and everything went silent for a minute, I punched him HARD in his back, he retaliated with a hard blow to my nose, and god did that ever hurt. It wasn't bleeding, it just hurt. I got him with some jabs to his ribs and then the teacher came, my friend who later decided to not talk to me anymore asked me if I was okay, I was struggling to not tear up.

See England? This is where you go wrong. With cheap teachers who don't actually teach a thing. The only way you can learn anything without doing it yourself is going to a ****ing university and getting taught by Stephen Hawking for christs' sake. Or getting lucky and going to a good school.

I wasn't getting bullied at all, nothing went wrong, it just...Felt wrong. It felt bad, it felt like what I would call The lobby to Hell. I'm not just bitching, I'm not a pussy, it's not that I can't cope with it or anything. My cousin used to be a smart guy, with friends, after he joined Secondary School he ended up changing, now he's an asshole, I don't even get on with him anymore, he's completely different and his grammar is TERRIBLE. He eventually dropped out.

So it's either join and change into an asshole to fit-in and have friends, or leave and become homeschooled, which is what I did. I'm a smart person and I evaluated everything. What the cons would be of this and the pros, the cons were, no experience, lack of friends, social encounters etc...The pros were, being able to do my work freely with no restrictions, going out to parks and anywhere I want to, freedom to think, no tests to prepare, no bullies or conflict to deal with, I have no walls.

So now I'm becoming homeschooled and I hope to go to College when I'm 16, then get my A-Levels and go to Uni to study Computer Science. If I believe in it, I can do it. I can get a good job and I wont have to go to the "Job Center" and "Sign-on" and barely be able to live.

TL;DR = English schools suck, you don't learn anything, you have to go uni to learn anything properly, otherwise you wouldn't need "secondary schools", they're full of ****s, blah blah.

It helps raise the standards. We're all capable of achieving brilliance. We just have to set our minds into it.

Agreed... if you have never had any trouble with school, it doesn't mean it was just as easy for others. Thousands of people work really hard and don't graduate first in their class or get into college when they're 8.
