Doesn't Fruity Loops have a free demo? I'm pretty sure it does, and you can do everything with it, but save as .flp (fruity loop project file). You can even export as mp3. The downside: any song making you do has to be finished in one sitting, or you can just leave the program open.

Acid Music might be the closest thing to Garageband on the PC. It is around $50 I think.

Uh actually, no you can't export it either. I just DL the newest version of FL and it still didnt let me export it after 4 hours of work. Grrrr. Buzz is just to damn difficult to work with either. I can only get one machine to work and the rest don't even make a sound. So, until I get some help, screw it.
