Embarassing DDR Moment

The other day (Monday) I was at a university for a student press day. When I walked in, I spotted a arcade and lo and behold there was DDR Extreme. Since my first program didn't start for about 20-30 minutes I decided to start playing. Not bad even though I was in combat boots.

I came back later during my lunch and started playing again. I was doing Exotic Ethinc completly with one leg and was doing pretty damn well for myself. I had a small crowd going and one girl was recording me on her cell phone. Well, I was doing the reverse scroll option and I was just about done when suddenely I lost my balance and fell off the pad almost smacking my head open on the nearby Silent Scope machine.

Needless to say, after that I was pretty embarassed. Anyone else have some embarassing moments?

well when i was 13 thats when i started to play ddr extreme and in about 3 weaks i was geting good. so i decided to try out in the arcades and when i go tthere there was like 20 people watching this pro do it and then i tryed it and i was doing A the song and i tryed turning side ways when i sliped and fell over the bars and almost every one was laugthing.

but i got over it!

Yeah, but I bet half of the people there wouldn't even try DDR because they are too afraid to make a fool of themselves. You are superior to them because you tried.

i was playing with my black shorts, which have a button that pops off easily and i was playing a song with tons of air steps (cant remember which) and well, i came down after one my pants opend and then fell down T_T

lucky me i only had a group of about 10 ppl watching me >_>

Dont feel bad, I had a same thing happan to me but I was doing a 180 in the air in doubles and it was pretty high and when I landed my foot turn and I fell off the pad!!! I hurried up to get back on and my bar was almost gone I made it just before bieng failed.

I suck at ddr... So ya. I really wanted to try it at laser quest (this laser tag place) becuase I enevr tryed ddr b4. So I went on after this crazy-ass pro guy and there was a crowd of like 15 ppl. They must of all though I was another kick ass guy :P So I got on looked for a super easy song and man a sucked ass :P It was so hard to get 1 arrow coming down at the right timing...

I was willing to go at again... when it wasn't after a good guy, but they took it away and traded it for some other games

yeah i know. the arcade that i went to and had ddr was closed down. so now im stuckin playin ddrmax2 and extreme. which, now that i think about it, isnt that bad

Damn, I like Speed Over Beethoven, but i keep falling off and screwing up! Man, that was my most embarassing DDR Moment (It happened two times!).

somethin similar happened to me but it turned out for the better... since not a lot of expert pros super fantastic players weren't playing that day for some reason I was the best one there

anyways I was playing The Least 100 Seconds DDR Extreme and when I went to go hit the left and right arrows <----> My left foot went too far but to break my fall I put my right hand down hitting the left arrow at the same time my right foot hit the right arrow I managed to get back up missing only one arrow... after my hand hit the arrow, they applauded

When i couldn't get the steps right on my first go... but it was my first time i played it so i didn't know what the game was properly.

1 time i wuz playin ddr at da arcade i wuz freestyling on AfroNova.
I slippe on the edge of the pad and i fell i still managed 2 pass the song bcuz i played with my handz.....

There was this one time that a Heavy player and a Light player were up there at the same time (not that good with names...but it doesn't really matter). So the Heavy player earns the extra stage, so the Light player leaves. Who's brave enough to take the other pad? Yeah, that ended up being me.

So the other guy hits "Random" for the song selection on the extra stage (I'm sure you know what's special about the extra stage), and lo and behold, Paranoia (forget which version) comes up! Now, I should probably point out that I do freezes and air well, but suck at chaotic songs. Paranoia happens to be extremely chaotic. So I'm desperately trying to even READ the stupid song, while the other guy is just going nuts, bar-raping and more often than not hitting the steps right on. So I pretty much embarrassed myself in front of everyone that was watching at the time...including my mom, who had never seen me play DDR before!

Since then, I've managed to pass 7-foot oni songs, and am considering making the move to Heavy singles and Standard doubles. All of this because I want to make sure that the next time I get the chance to show off my stuff, I'm going to show my GOOD stuff.

Edit: I notice that a lot of "embarrassing moments" in this thread revolve around falling. Well, here's something I try to fight that tendency with. When I play Light Doubles, I put one hand on each bar if it's something I haven't tried before and it's a little speedy (about 3 beats per second). It makes for some insane stretches, but I do not fall down.

Yeah once I was at a lock-in at this arcade place from 12 am to 5 am and needless to say I stayed at the DDR machine (extreme). I was having fun since it was unlimited play and I was doing double mode when the fatigue got to me and I slipped and fell off the machine. I was so tired I stayed on the ground and didn't really care. But I eventually got up and played more.

I love ddr 5th mix. Best mix witht the exception of extreme. I was playing it one day and my foot slipped. I fell off and i found myself on the ground. needless to say i failed the song. Other random emberassing moments include hitting the wrong button when trying to pick a song and playing graduation. goodies

Oh yeah this one was pretty embaressing.

So me and my friends are playing DDR extreme when this kid and his friend comes up and asked if he can play before he has to go.So we say sure,then he asks if one of us wants to go against him.So i volunteered.Little did i know...I was playing against a heavy player

When I was a beginner>.< So he played heavy and I played Beginner and i was getting screwed up because he was [pressing at th efast ones while I was going really slw.

Heh...I've fallen off the pad a lot. But I'm tall and lanky, with no balance. =P

The worst one was when I tried to spin some of the gallops in So Deep Doubles. The opportunity was there, so I took it...Needless to say, fell forward onto the side of the machine, and almost smashed my head into a speaker.

When I play at the mall I usually attract a crowd(even being 11 I still play heavy on the hottest songs) and usually people better than me see and they prove me that I suck compared to them. Wich feels bad but not nearly as much as what u guys have gone through.

The worst thing that has happened to me was when I was at a DDR party with about five of my friends (including my crush) after homecoming and I was going to show off by playing one of my favorite and one of the fastest songs on DDR MAX2 (u all probally kno the one im talking about). I was going pretty good until about half way through, my dress didnt have any straps and I had to keep pulling the top up to keep from,well u kno, "falling out". Next thing I knew when I was on the fast steps at the end I tripped and not only did the top half of my dress come down but I fell over trying to pull the top up and fell on the ground with my dress over my head.......exposed!!!! gahhh!!!!
