It's easier for me to be happy in the summer and spring more than winter and fall. This is because I have what is known as Seasonal Affective Disorder. No, it's not some disease that makes you crazy or anything. It's just the way my body reacts to not having enough sunlight and so forth. This link: http://www.nmha.org/infoctr/factsheets/27.cfm should help you understand if you don't know what it is. What makes me happy now is seeing or talking to my boyfriend. We started dating November 23rd, 2004. Seriously, I could go on ALL DAY about him...but I will spare you of this. I started talking to him about the time the sun stopped wanting to shine more often than not. I've notified him of how I am in the darker months and he totally supports me when I need him. He's extremely patient with me and I can't stop from smiling when I think of him. This is what makes me happy.

As inspirational as that is..emo...where are they all coming from
I don't beleive in crazy made up disorders to give people an excuse for acting how they want to act. This includes ADD, aspergers and Seasonal Affective Disorder. Funny note; Ironic Acronym: Seasonal Affective Disorder They sooo did that on purpose. |

Yes, it is quite an ironic acronym. I too believe they did that on purpose.

Okay, homework is a perfectly good reason for someone to be depressed. Don't hate me, but I like NEVER have homework. (LOL) I actually like being at school more than I do at home. My classes are great and the teachers are awesome people. Whenever I'm finished with my work, I hang out in the library with the other people and we just talk and have fun. Or, I go to the chorus room and play the piano. Just whatever I feel like doing. At home, I have problems because my dad doesn't believe I'm giving school my all because I don't have homework...oddly enough, I have a 4.0 (of a 4.0 scale). He constantly fusses at me and so forth...so I believe this explains why I'd rather be at school. Thank you for calling me kewl...

It's funny to think about exactly what happiness is, because everyone can tell when they are happy, but they can't tell exactly why they are happy.
I'm normally happy when I am writing things or working at the afterschool play, but why am I happy? Because I'm doing something I like? Why do I like it? Because its making a representation of myself for others to see? Why does making a representation of myself for others to see make me happy? Because it makes me feel important? Why does making myself feel important make me happy? Because it makes me feel powerful and secure? Why does feeling powerful and secure make me happy? Each question just leads another, until I make the conclusion that I cannot anwser anymore questions, the conclusion that happiness is metaphysical: it can't be explained... it can be explained "how" or "why" chemichally, but we cannot explain "how" or "why" certain things instigate those chemichals which make happiness. So, I don't really know what happiness is to me.

The odd thing is...we might not know what makes us happy, but I am sure that all of us can pick out something that makes us sad. Negative emotional forces tend to leave longer lasting impressions than positive ones.

What truly makes me happy is when time is no longer relevant to anything. There is no schedule, or places to be, or things that need to be done. The days can drift by peacefully.
Without a certain level of suffering, there would be less of a contrast when we were content. Although it is something we strive for, can you imagine the boredom involved in having unlimited cash flow, stunning looks, and no need to do a single bit of work for the rest of your life? I feel that humans are meant to suffer in one way or another throughout some part of their life. |

Happiness is the ultimate realization that everything was, and is, exactly as it should be.

You thought I was a GUY?!

And some people lose sight of that, always trying to obtain more and more things to make them happy, while infact, they are losing sight of the fact that they will never be happy by being greedy. The greed has to stop sometime, or there will never be happiness... only greed. and that means there will never be enough happiness to satiate an appitite.
