I was amazed after playing Star Ocean although it is a remake, the real time engine works exceptionally well. This game should be played more often! Really, the beggining sucks, though.

SO3 isn't a remake of anything.
It's the fourth (and most likely final, unless it sells even more when it gets to greatest hits) title in the Star Ocean series, which began with Star Ocean for the Super Famicom. SO1 - 1996 (Japan only, but a translation patch exists for the ROM) SO2 - 1998 (Debut of series in America) SO: Blue Sphere - 1999 (Japan only. For the GameBoy Color. A sidestory of SO2.) SO3 - 2003 (Original Japanese version, 1 disc only, lacking many features and bugfixes of director's cut) SO3 Director's Cut - 2004 (American/PAL version is the same as the Director's Cut, just in English) Hope that clears things up. Also, keep in mind that all 3 Star Ocean games are made entirely by tri-Ace, and published by Enix. Square-Enix has nothing to do with the game at all. They merely published it. There was also a Star Ocean 2 anime, but it sucked. There's Blue Sphere mangas, but I'm pretty sure they sucked too. |

I've played SO2 and 3, and I loved them. I only wish they would remake the other two...
