Anyone here tried PSP Revolution? Just google it and install to your psp.
It is a homebrew program that can read .sm but the problem is the KB chart doesn't seem fun because it is played thumb style like when you play DDR in PS2 with controller. If someone experienced in this style I want to ask about awkward pattern that have to avoid and fingering that you use. |

PSP Revolution interests me; it's like an idealized version of index, since your two fingers can't get in the way of each other and can both act on the same column at once.
Have you tried downloading older packs geared for an index-based audience?

Sorry Patashu, but I couldn't find any meaning about index style anywhere.
Can you give me an example of button and fingering used in index? And the pack you mentioned is like ODI , F4 ? Last edited by tunsz555; 04-15-2009 at 08:47 AM.. |

Oh, index is where you play using your two index fingers to hit notes on the arrow keys. It was the prominent style a few years ago so all the big keyboard packs were playable on index for the mostpart.
Try packs like the KBC I-III, KBMP 1 and 2, F4/F5...just old ones, I guess. bluexoon.com has all the major packs if you want to sift through. Or is that still too hard for you? You could try high-end pad packs: they're basically all streaaaaammmmmm. Something like Cosmic Pope's packs which you can find over in r21freak.com

So, yeah, in order to run PSPR, you need to be on CFW, and at that point I would suggest just playing DJ Max 1, 2, Classique, Black Square, or Fever...
Oh, also, I've played PSPR, and I don't think you'll have to worry about awkward button combos too much. Seems to me like you'd have to be intentionally doing something to try and make it awkward... Only thing I'd say is that holds that have a lot of stream on the side are a bit difficult because you're reduced to one finger most of the time, but, thats more of a whiny complaint than anything...

Would you be able to hold your thumb on the hold but slide it over to press adjacent buttons while hitting remaining buttons with your other thumb?

When playing you can use 1 thumbs to hit the arrows on the left, and the other to hit the shapes on the right, both act as buttons to hit the arrows.
So it's extremely easy to get the hang of, me Xiao, and a few others used to play when I brang my PSP to school a few years ago.

I have 3 simfiles in the DB that can be used for PSP.
THe night when the country east you cannot sleep ( i think thats what it's called...) And Unlimited Spark! Both pad files, which can also be used to index.

I'm arrive at this conclusion : PAD < index < PSP < spread
index is PAD + fast stream PSP style is index + jacks spread is PSP style + stream with jumps <-- probably thing to avoid when making PSP simfile because I seems to never hit long stream with jumps on PSP ever, wondering if more training will pass this? |

PSP revo is easy, me and zero use to play DDR on controller ages ago, i also quaded every song on ITG (controller) exceot Pandy and Euphoria (check groovestats if you dont believe me).. anyways..
Stick to gay DDR charts, unless your like me and enjoy some simple KB charts =) I advise just playing ITG songs as well =P |
