I use Maya too.

3ds Max by far has the best modeling tools out of the programs I've used.

Maya has an unparalleled texturing system. It is also one of the most difficult programs to navigate through EVER FREAKING MADE...seriously it took me like 15 minutes to find out how to make a box when I first used it.

Lightwave just isn't all that great.

Yeah, I realize this, but I've worked in Rhino (3 and 4), and solidworks for 3 years now in engineering class at school. I understand what you mean--haven't used 3ds max though, so I can't say I know exactly.

No, not weeks to familiarize yourself...weeks to make any 1 good model, it could take years to get to that point, I know it took me over 2 years just to get good enough to make that crummy robot in the first video link. The robot itself took about a month, built from scratch.

How hard are these to customise for you DS?

I'd love a style 2 one, but instead of the violet kinda colour I'd love Blood red. Oh and maybe the same size as my gamertag which is 300 by 135 I think.

I know beggars can't be choosers but it's worth a shot.
