You guys are completely missing the point.

I mean, how ****ing prejudice can you be? Any president is just as liable of being assassinated as any other.
1. It is not prejudice to suggest that acts of violence may very well be carried out against him. It's the truth. This is a revolutionary event. He is the first of his kind and some people may not be willing to accept that at all. What I was trying to say is that the amount of intolerant dumbasses out there makes the possibility of an act of violence more than likely. It's their fault, not Obama's.

2. It's a fair point that improvements in technology and in the secret service certainly narrow down the likelihood that he will be attacked, but sooner or later, I'd imagine he would at least attempt to give one speech without an excessive amount of security. Obama likes to send powerful messages to the public, so there's no doubt in my mind that he will inevitably consider that. After all, what kind of statement is made about the leader of a country, not to mention the country itself, if he or she has to make every public appearance behind a pane of bullet-proof glass or something? Not a good one. That's for certain.

I type in "Obama" in google's search. The "suggested searches" menu pops down.
I type in "McCain" in google's search. The "suggested searches" menu pops down.

Look at the controversy that surrounds Obama as opposed to McCain. It is ridiculous.

The only bad thing that I see is the suggested search for when McCain called Obama "that one" during a presidential debate.

conservatives saw they lost like a month ago so they started going all out in attacking obama with lame attempts like calling him the antichrist and mentioning he knows bill ayers (who isn't a terrorist btw, he blew up buildings with no one in them to protest vietnam, I would have honestly done the same thing, **** wars) and then slandering a college professor.... http://www.supportbillayers.org/

obama's not "controversial", it's just that people who didn't want to vote for him were trying to find some "reason" to vote for mccain so they googled crap to see if obama's muslim. lulz

I worry for him as well, but I think he'll be fine. I mean, clearly everyone else has considered this possibility, even Barack himself. Clearly he didn't find the risk enough to withdraw his run for presidency. And hell, if it happens, it happens. Biden is pretty cool too. I know many people who voted for Obama because of his VP choice. We can only hope he'll be okay.

I'm sure he's going to be fine, he knew what he was going to run into by going into the election.

alot of people have been talking about the advancments in security. I just don't know how the secret service or a peice of bullet proof glass would be able to stop a high powered rifle round when they have rounds that can peirce the armour of tanks.

most are assuming red necks would be behind any killing, but it could always be a professional job. someone high up, someone with money.

with the technological advancements of sniper rifles these days it really is odd to think that anybody could stop someone with the right training. i mean how long did it take for them to find that guy shooting people at gas stations in DC? if the right person comes along Obama is done for.

No.

There will be no assasinations attempt.

Obvious, but true. Proof?

There's no need for that which you already know.

The sad thing is that he doesn't even realize what a bad job he did as President.

Maybe if you used common sense or watched/read the news once in a while you'd find out there have already been 2. Gobama 2008-2012.

When Junior gets approval and a pat on the head from daddy, I don't think he would care much anyways.

Gah, I just kept seeing, in my head, Obama getting shot last night... all this makes sense that there's a lot protecting him, but what if something slips up?

If no reasonably educated person managed to off Bush, then I doubt any redneck neo-nazi can break through secret service and get to Obama.

A reasonably educated person would know that if they off bush, cheney would become president.
